Can someone please break down why we’re trying so hard to cram everything into these massive mega-threads? I mean, sure, I get it for stuff like movie recommendations or just general hanging out, but for so many other topics, it totally makes zero sense since hardly anyone even follows them. Like, what are the odds you'll actually get a reply tucked away in one of those giant threads? It feels pretty pointless to post anything there. Isn't the whole point of this place to actually let us talk to each other? 😕 Seriously, if that's the case, just let people start their own individual threads! And while we're on the subject, the way threads get shut down for no real reason is such a headache. The mods aren't all-knowing gods who can perfectly judge what belongs where, so they really should be way more careful about pulling the plug on discussions. When in doubt, just leave it alone!

Hey, please go ahead and drop the links to those threads that have been bugging you.

I was just speaking in generalities. Is even that against the rules now? What’s next, am I not allowed to use the whole damn alphabet? 🤣

Look, you really ought to provide an actual example here. It’s basically the whole point of our forum policy—we don't want people just dumping everything into one massive thread if these discussions can actually hold their own as high-quality, standalone topics. Plus, we shouldn't be locking threads unless there's a genuinely good reason to do so. If you think that rule isn't being followed somewhere, then please, just send me the link so I can take a look at what's going on.

Edit: And let's keep things respectful, okay? We have no intention of engaging with anyone on this platform who can't manage to post a couple of decent, polite messages.

So, that’s just how you see it, right? Like, if you actually wanted an example, I could probably give you one. But honestly, I wouldn't even be acting out if people didn't constantly go looking for any excuse to start drama on these forums. Look, if you're looking for respect, you gotta earn it by being decent and doing the work, not by trying to bully everyone else.

Those are simply the rules for this sub-forum. If you expect people to actually engage with your thread, you need to open it according to the guidelines. Otherwise, don't be surprised when it gets shut down instantly.

People call it rude, but honestly, that's just how 90% of the mods talk to everyone. Shout out to the few who actually get it.
On subreddits like this one, the arrogance is through the roof. It's impossible to get a straight answer without someone acting stuck-up. So yeah, don't act shocked when users start giving you that same energy back...

So, does that mean you won't bother responding if someone is arrogant or blunt, even if they actually have a point and provide links to back it up? Does being rude count as breaking the rules? It doesn't. So, I’m honestly struggling to see where you're getting the nerve to say that.

More to the point: if someone is actually right and pointing out a legitimate issue, but gets ignored just because their delivery was a bit rough, then you're the ones failing at your job. In that scenario, you'd basically be doing a disservice to Reddit, wouldn't you?

I realize the original poster didn't include any links, so I don't know if they're actually correct, but I'm just asking for the sake of clarity.

Look, we aren't obligated to jump into every single conversation. If I have enough info to get the gist of things, I'll take a look, but that doesn't mean I’m going to dive into a debate—especially when people are just drifting off-topic.

Since the OP hasn't actually put forward any real proof to back up these claims about what's supposedly going on around here on the forum, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread.
