I don't know, man, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it's that you can't expect anything halfway decent from those scriptwriters out of Philadelphia working for Mamić. Word on the street is that John Doe even shows up in the movie as some kind of savior for Bug at Yankee Stadium(?!)—give me a break. And honestly, just looking at the technical side of things, it’ll be hilarious to see how Morgan Cook manages to play a kid around 10 or 11 years old when he’s got about 35 going on in Metastasis. :-) Basically, the whole thing smells like a total disaster.

analogheron19 said:Just because someone’s talking trash doesn't mean the movie is actually going to suck. Honestly, it can't get any worse than Metastasis anyway.😛

Look, at the end of the day, the final product can always turn out way more damaging than some stupid movie, no matter how many little jokes they threw in there or what kind of "vision" the project lead and their so-called "advisors" thought they were pulling off.
I’m not sure I could ever truly get on the same page as John Doe... I mean, look at the social climate we're living in right now. Public opinion is such a mess, and this whole exhausting struggle for basic human rights and fan freedoms—which has honestly spiraled completely out of control and lost all sense of reason—makes me wonder if it's even smart to blindly cheer on yet another movie that just exists to fuel old prejudices. You know, those dusty, tired myths about drunken mobs and whatnot. Even if there's some grain of truth or authenticity buried in there somewhere, I don't know. People living through this era will be the ones to judge, but that’s really beside the point.
Whatever, I'm done getting involved in this mess...

What a farce... I can already see the hefty donation being funneled from the local pro football club and John Doe toward the man leading the charge 😁

boldtiger7 said:It’s honestly pathetic. Like, is it actually impossible for them to find anyone else to play this role besides Morgan Cook3? Seriously, what a joke. 😁

Since he played one of the characters anyway.
As far as he’s concerned, John Doe told me straight up that he just didn't have the guts to step up and take the role. He was essentially too terrified of the Democratic Party and Franjo Tuđman to make a move. Welcome to the lion's den.👎

Does anyone have an update on John Doe, that near-murderer? Is he still being held? When is the trial scheduled, and will they actually charge him with attempted murder?
How is the guy he shot doing? Has he recovered yet?

I’ve already gone through the script, and honestly, aside from the dark humor—very much in the vein of Metastasis—and the whole core concept of being a die-hard fan, there isn't much realism regarding how the supporter scene actually works.
Basically, the Bad Boys are going to pull off in this movie what they never managed to do in real life back in the city—something every true fan knows—and the film features way more actual street fighting than probably happened at any single game during those big gatherings in the eighties. 🙂

It’s all fine, I guess, though I have this nagging feeling it’s going to turn into some Chuck Norris-style caricature of the Bad Boys 🙂
. If the audience and the fans just take the film for what it is—pure fantasy and fiction—then we're good.
But if people start treating this like some pretentious attempt to rewrite history, then things are going to get messy. 🙂

Plus, I have no clue how the producers even imagined they'd get permission from the rival gangs to film at Yankee Stadium or anywhere else in the city...

Basically, the Bad Boys are going to pull off in this movie what they never managed to do in reality back in New York, which is something every hardcore fan knows. In the film, there seems to be way more actual street fighting than probably happened at any of those massive game gatherings in New York during the eighties. 🙂

Everything is fine, except I have this gut feeling it’s going to turn into some Chuck Norris-style mockery of the Bad Boys. 🙂

But if people start treating this like some pretentious attempt to rewrite history, then all hell is going to break loose. 🙂

And I don't even know how the producers thought they'd get permission from the rival factions—you know, the Red Devils or the Gravediggers—to film at Yankee Stadium or anywhere else around the city....

I guess they sent them the script to read beforehand, too.😁
Since quite a few of their actors are local, I doubt they haven't already checked out the situation on the ground.🤔

Ethan Cook said:Does anyone happen to have an update on the situation regarding John Doe, the individual responsible for the shooting? I am wondering if he remains in custody, when the trial is scheduled to take place, and whether the prosecution intends to pursue charges for attempted murder.
Furthermore, does anyone know how the victim is doing? Has there been any news regarding his recovery?

I would also appreciate some clarity on this matter... the only thing I have observed is that his associates have been chanting Mark Tunjić's name during several recent games. It strikes me as quite peculiar that such behavior was not noted in the Democratic Party's official report.

The script is actually decent 🤣🤣

You people eat through this garbage daily. Always hearing about how we need to change the stereotypes surrounding fans because "hey, there are students, doctors, and lawyers among us..." and all that nonsense. He’s getting all worked up over legal battles and media coverage, but honestly, who cares? The script is solid enough, so let’s just wait and see if the movie actually lands.
It seems even the old guard from the '80s doesn't care if they make this absolute eyesore of a film and embarrass the whole group, letting some random amateur write the screenplay for a fan movie.

I mean, hopefully, it turns out better than Metastasis 🤣. But having this guy write the script—it's like some ridiculous epic set in the seventh century. You've got this "charming" little guy selling styrofoam at Yankee Stadium while wearing a Yankees jersey. Because clearly, that's what makes it endearing.

The fan scene in Philly is a relic of the past. There are maybe 100 people left, half of whom don't even show up, and the rest are either clowns, informants, or people on their way to becoming them.

Oh, come on, Scott Jones9, don't give me that. The script is actually solid.
The director is a gynecologist who isn't even a fan, but he clearly dove deep into the supporter psyche alongside Grgo Prskalo. Given that Prskalo is easily one of the top three hooligans in the history of the former Yugoslavia, there’s no way this flops. It’s going to be a massive hit. 🤣

I can't shake this feeling that we're looking at yet another caricature designed to mock public perception of sports fans, using a film filled with empty cliches and tired tropes about fan culture... like calling them a "Metastasis," which is just repulsive
.

Matthew Foster8, if you’re feeling targeted, please speak up. Regarding the segment intended for the movie, there was that walk through the streets of Chicago from the station toward Yankee Stadium. Then there’s the appearance from a year ago involving that infamous arrival of rival supporters at the Chicago station, where even they admitted how much the numbers caught them off guard. We could also point to the clash with that intense group of locals in the restroom at the stadium. Since the people on the other side have actually admitted to fleeing the station or how brutal that halftime fight at the arena really was, I don't see what the issue is if the film includes those specific details. Though, I suppose some might still complain because the Bad Boys would simply be portrayed as untouchable legends—it’s that same old narrative about how hordes of villains used to surround the Bad Boys back in the day.

Look, everyone, quit talking nonsense before you’ve even laid eyes on the script. Based on what I've seen, this thing is supposed to be more of a comedy—like a parody with bits of action thrown in—rather than anything else. The plot points are totally made up; they don't actually have anything to do with any specific guest appearance. It’s mostly just a bunch of chaos centered around systemic changes, the rise of nationalistic fervor, and how a few individuals get swept up in that whole whirlwind.

Look, everyone keeps claiming they hired some top-tier pro just to make sure this looks like pure, unadulterated, gritty street-level chaos, like it’s straight out of an underground indie flick rather than a polished studio job.

Look, I haven't actually laid eyes on the script myself, but I’ve been hearing whispers through the grapevine from a few people that there are at least three different versions floating around. The first one was cooked up by those guys over in Philadelphia—specifically that guy Chukin—who brought in Balenovic with Schmidt’s help. And since Schmidt is who he is, he just gave the green light to the whole thing at the HAVC. Apparently, that version is absolute garbage. So then, they hired some younger crew members to handle direction and production, but those kids actually had the nerve to try and fix the script—which is supposedly the "better" version. But man, the Philly crowd started throwing around threats because they didn't like the changes. Once the project almost hit a dead end and they realized they were about to lose serious cash, those Philly types backed off a little, but even so, it's nothing like that first idiotic draft. Honestly, the reason you all have such wildly different takes is probably just because you're looking at different versions depending on who you're listening to.

Schmidt went ahead and greenlit that version at HAVC. Word is, that draft is absolute garbage. Then they hired some young guns for directing and production, but those kids had the nerve to try and fix the script, which is supposedly the "better" version. Of course, that led to some threats coming from the secret society crowd. Once the project almost hit a dead end and they realized they were about to lose a mountain of cash, the secret society types backed off a bit. Still, it's moving further away from that first idiotic version. Maybe all your differing opinions stem from that; it just depends on which specific mess you're reading.

I got my hands on the script about six or seven months ago, so I can only speak to that specific iteration. It's labeled as the final cut, so logically it should be the definitive version, but hey, who knows what's actually happening behind closed doors?🤔
Just checked my files; I've got the version dated September 15, 2014.
