Saturday, 7:30 PM!

The Milwaukee Wave are taking on Washington, D.C. at Madison Square Garden. It’s basically the fan-owned squad versus the club run by the D.C. police. Honestly, you couldn't ask for a better matchup!

🤔

isn't this just pure, 100% fan behavior? 🤔

poking fun at the weaknesses of the opposing group 🤔

I am not sure why you are posting this here. We are just giving them more attention...

The only thing that actually catches my eye is reading about how they had 3000 people show up in Columbus, which is wild because that’s way more than 10% of the whole city's population—basically like if you had 100,000 fans packed into Yankee Stadium instead of the usual crowd in Washington, D.C.

Well, I suppose when you consider that the entire county has about 100k people, it isn’t actually all that impressive, I guess... 🙂

Besides, we'll finally see what they're really made of once Washington, D.C. heads out to play an away game against Columbus 🙂

If you actually took a second to read back what you just wrote, you'd realize why it *is* impressive.
When the Kansas City Chiefs play at Yankee Stadium, you’ve got 5.6 million people showing up in a massive metro area. That works out to maybe 0.2 percent of the population... which would be like, I don't know, having 50 people show up for a game in Columbus, a place that doesn't even have a deep history of top-tier sports teams.

LISTEN UP! Guys, the blood supply situation over at Petrov 3 is absolutely dire right now. It’s the same old story, and honestly, it’s high time we step up and do our part. Please, carve out a little bit of time to reach out to your inner circle—friends, coworkers, anyone you know—and just get the word out. Send a quick text, throw a post up on Facebook, or do whatever else you can to rally people for the blood drive this Friday between 3:00 and 5:00 PM. Think about it: we can kill two birds with one stone. We can grab something useful to do before heading to the game and actually save a life or help someone recover in the process. SEE YOU THERE!!

With all due respect, Thomas, 10% of Washington, D.C.'s population isn't even close to 100,000 people.

According to the official city estimates, back in 2013 we were sitting at about 795,900, though honestly, it’s probably cruising past 800,000 by now. If you look at the broader metro area, we were already hitting a million back in 2011, so I’m not really sure what point you're trying to make here—unless we're planning on sitting around debating exact decimal points, which definitely wasn't my intention.
The KC holds around 25,000, right? So if there are, say, 3,000 people at the stadium, that’s roughly 12% of the local population.
It’s not like 96,000 people would trek from downtown Washington, D.C. to Central Park, or even 120,000 coming from the greater Washington, D.C. area, since you clearly want to get technical with the stats.
But hey, who cares, this whole debate is pretty much irrelevant anyway.

Yeah, but the thing is—out of those three thousand people, at least a thousand are die-hard Real Madrid fans from around that area—you know, like the Midwest, V, and Indiana...
