Kevin Chavez3 said:I don't see how singing against the war 25 years ago disproves the idea that he's become a rockin' preacher lately🙂 🙂

Singing against the war just kills the "theory" that he's on the same level as Boris Gjorgiev or Thomson. And when it comes to religion? He doesn't have songs like that. It’s pure stupidity to take lines from I Want to Know like "Mary, Mother of God, do you see what they're doing to your children" and call them religious lyrics 🙄, especially since the point of the song follows immediately after: "To be the same, to be special, to be free, to be just yourself"—which is the exact opposite of any dogma. Cane has rocked that worldview through his entire discography to this day. That's why he's lasted so long. He has solid foundations. This is music with a spine.

And I'm not arguing that he's a preacher. I've been making pilgrimages for decades myself.

this is too good 🙏 (these lyrics are giving me a headache lol😁) and it feels like that "old New York City spirit" is still alive and kicking...

Scott Long71 said:Exactly. Cane isn't out here singing about religion, and he sure as hell isn't singing about nationality. 🙄And honestly—putting him in the same damn bucket as Boris Gjorgiev and Thomson is just straight-up stupid. You’ve got way too many things mixed up here—Rimtutituki - Peace, man, just peace., Cane, Gile, Milan, and Cavke — just pure sex, drugs, violence, and fear.).

Go write about something you actually get—you don't know the first thing about Apple.

Let's get back to the topic. Time to warm up for today. Cheapskates - Sister

Keep shining, sister!
Shine—just shine while you still can.
Don't let them erase you.
People who don't even know how to love... they just don't get it.

No need for a massive response here. This is just another mob mentality situation—people who don't have a clue what they're even thinking, let alone what they're actually listening to. They don't know the guy personally, and they sure as hell don't know his music. Or maybe they’re just spinning some fantasy version of the tracks in their heads, thinking it's something else entirely—honestly, it wouldn't be the first time a band dealt with that. Half the time when musicians actually write something meaningful, the audience either misses the point completely or gets the facts totally wrong.
Let's throw some religious songs into the mix—for example:
I just wanna know.
2. Prayer
3. Get in touch.
Am I losing it? Or am I just a stranger in my own damn country... like being stuck in Mexico or something.
Who am I even supposed to be praising here? (I've played at their shows—go check Wikipedia if you don't believe me.)
I’m not expecting anything—heaven is full, and they're all watching us...
My heart's right here—and honestly, if I actually had what I needed, I’d have found my way to heaven a long time ago. Instead, I'm just out here wandering around... whatever.
Pick one—somewhere in that middle ground between the light and the dark.
What time is it? Honestly, who’s actually the villain here and who’s the victim? Everyone’s in the same boat—we're all just circling the drain together. We’ll probably end up blaming the whole burglary thing by the end of this anyway... just more typical 90s-style relativism.

Should we even bother? We could keep digging through old interviews and whatnot if we really wanted to... but honestly, look at it this way: I’ve spent thirty years studying their material and their whole vibe—I know this stuff like a transplant surgeon knows his craft. Then you get some random person who hasn't done a lick of research waltzing up to that "surgeon" and trying to tell them how to do their job? No way. What we're seeing here is just an emotional outburst from those crowds he was talking about in his earlier posts. Look, if those masses decided to take his lyrics or his statements and twist them into something completely different, that’s on them, not me. It's the same old story—it's like when Lemmy says Motörhead is rock 'n' roll, but all the metalheads out there insist it's something else entirely. Or like how Sale from The Beat Fleet says that even if they dropped something incredibly profound, people probably wouldn't even get it—or worse, they'd totally misinterpret it. Even Bare mentioned he could crank out an album even better than Tesko boja, but it probably wouldn't sell nearly as well. There are endless examples of this. These crowds are driven by pure emotion rather than intellect; they don't actually *listen*. They just project whatever they want onto the music and reshape "reality" inside their own heads—which is basically just childish behavior, let's be real. But hey, whatever... some things are just too complicated for people to grasp, so why even waste the breath?

Don't bother wasting your time digging through Wikipedia—here's the deal:

They don't know the man personally, nor his work. Or maybe they listen to that New York City material imagining it’s something else entirely—it’s happened with bands before. Often when musicians write things, the majority of the audience either misses the point or gets it completely wrong.
Let’s look at some examples from religious songs:
1. I want to know
2. Prayer
3. Get in touch
4. Is it me? (being a stranger in my own land, Mexico...)
5. Who will I praise? (played at their concerts, check Wikipedia)
6. Expecting nothing (the heavens are full, watching over us...)
7. Heart beats here (...and if I had everything I needed, I'd easily find the path to heaven, just wandering around...)
8. Choose (.....between two halves.... between 'light' and 'darkness'....)
9. What time is it? (who is guilty and who is the victim... everyone in the same boat, hanging over the abyss by a thread... the 90s relativism)

Should I keep going? I could pull quotes from interviews and such. Based on my knowledge of their music and who they are as a group, I feel like a surgeon who’s been doing transplants for 30 years, only to have someone with zero clue walk up and tell the surgeon how to do his job. No way. It’s just an emotional outburst from those crowds mentioned in previous posts. If those masses interpreted these songs or his statements in a completely different way, that isn't my problem. Even Lemmy says Motörhead is rock 'n' roll, while the metal crowd argues otherwise. And Sale from The Beat Fleet says if they wrote something truly brilliant, people wouldn't even get it or would misinterpret it. Bare claims he could make a better album than Tesko boja, but it probably wouldn't sell as well. There are endless examples of these masses being emotional rather than intellectual; they don't actually listen, they just imagine things and shape a "reality" in their heads like a cartoon. Whatever. Some things are just too complicated to grasp, so there's no point arguing.

George Hill4 said:Alright, so we've got undeniable proof now—this is definitely just Blackadder1 typing. 🤣

It’s like Blackadder is the only person on this entire planet who thinks Motörhead is cool and actually listens to them—so if anyone else agrees, they must be Blackadder too, right? And who even is that guy anyway? 🤦
By the way, I just remembered—you can actually get a minimum penalty for this kind of stuff. When an argument gets heated and people can't handle the truth (that emotional crowd again) or simply can't win on logic, they resort to being low-life losers. It's just like how people play dirty in American corporate offices—throwing someone under the bus just to clear the deck. They'll just claim someone is a troll or using multiple accounts just to get rid of them. Honestly, the mods should at least throw out a warning when people start using these cheap tactics. Thanks.

No. Current events belong right here. Visibility in the Musicians section is ten times lower than it is here, while this place is just filled with the same ancient, prehistoric threads from decades ago.🙂

🙂🙂

Looking at these links, all I can say is: "Innovative"... if you want to lose your mind.
Pop and his little sermon. Whatever... if people like it, more power to them—just don't let this thread turn into a total joke. For me, it's all 🙂
Look. I think we settled some things. You've got people who built this mental image of Bruce Springsteen when they were sixteen, and now they refuse to update their software (acting like he's still that same Bruce from the old days), but hey—you learn stuff while you're alive. You evolve, change your style, move on with your life... It’s not like some kid or an emotionally stunted person who clings to the world they imagined at sixteen, defending it at all costs and ignoring reality... That's just childish...
But fine, let's wrap it up: if people like it, cool. The point is, some facts were laid out here. Same goes for other musicians—you gotta bust the fantasy and show the reality, no matter how much it sucks. Better the truth than some grown man living out a sixteen-year-old's dream. There are plenty of people like that at these kinds of shows... Personally, I don't go to those gigs anymore; they're ridiculous and boring... and they tend to get pretty depressing, like with Bruce Springsteen and stuff...
Anyway... that's about it, I guess...

I'm looking at these links and can only say one thing: "Innovative" in the most annoying way possible.
Pop and his little crusade. Whatever. If people want this, fine—just don't turn this thread into a total mess. Personally, I think all this 🙂
Fine. We've settled things, I guess. People who formed an image of Bruce Springsteen when they were sixteen and refuse to let him evolve (acting like he's still that same guy from the seventies) are just stuck. You learn things as you live. You change your perspective and move forward. It's not healthy to cling to some teenage fantasy of a musician and ignore reality like a child. It's immature.
But hey, to each their own. The point is that some facts were stated here. The same goes for any other musician; you have to shatter those fantasies and face the truth, no matter how much it sucks. Real life beats living in a sixteen-year-old's dream. There are plenty of people like that at these kinds of concerts. That's why I stopped going to shows like that. They're ridiculous, boring, and often depressingly heavy, especially when it involves someone like Bruce Springsteen.
Anyway... that's about it.

You clearly need more fun in your life. You're being way too negative, Black Sabbath... silentridge84. 😁

Man, think it over—they sound incredible, absolutely killer.

I really hope this project sticks around for a while.

Bruce Springsteen seriously needed this; honestly, the latest stuff from The Rolling Stones has been getting pretty stale and repetitive lately.

The guy's a legend and easily the best frontman still touring around the States right now. Toss in that colorful, high-quality musicianship, and the whole vibe is just spot on.

silentridge84 said:So this one Black Sabbath fan is basically claiming they're the only person on Earth who actually digs Motorhead? Like, if someone else listens to them, does that automatically make them a Black Sabbath fan too? Who even is this guy? 🤦
By the way, I just remembered, you can actually get slapped with a ban for stuff like this. When an argument gets heated and people can't handle the truth—you know, those emotional types we were talking about—or they simply can't win with actual facts, they resort to being low-life losers. It’s exactly like the petty office politics you see at a big corporation like Amazon, where everyone’s busy stabbing each other in the back. Instead of debating, they just throw out accusations of trolling or claim someone's using multiple accounts just to get them kicked off the board. It’s cheap. Honestly, the mods should at least toss out a warning when people start using these dirty tactics. Just saying.

Which recent tracks are you talking about? And Skrtice almost seem to have that same specific sound as his old band, The Rolling Stones.

Which "last few things" are you talking about? Because Skrtice sounds pretty much exactly like their old band, The Rolling Stones.

I mean, looking at their last five releases, they should probably just call the next album "Poor Kingdom," though honestly, "Liberty or Nothing" felt a bit repetitive too.

If Skrtice sounds like some "polished" punk-rock version of The Rolling Stones to you, then I don't know what to tell you—maybe your ears are so fried you can't hear anything that isn't straight-up punk rock anymore.

Besides, Bruce Springsteen is the only one left from the old crew, so I don't get how they could all sound like "their old band, The Rolling Stones." 😁

Did you even see them live?
