But this morning, I stumbled upon a comment from a few days back that crossed a line. It used a phrase targeting someone's mother through a religious insult, which goes way beyond simple profanity. It’s not just a curse word; it’s a direct slur against a group of people and a deep personal insult to the individual involved. Since all of this seems to be flying under the radar here, it really makes me wonder: what kind of moral compass are the people in charge using when it comes to policing the standards and values of this community?

Look, we aren't trying to turn this place into some sterile, sanitized wasteland, but there are definitely lines you shouldn't cross. Direct insults aimed at another member? That’s a hard no—absolutely forbidden. Everything else really just comes down to the context of the conversation. For instance, over in the football threads, things are a bit more relaxed; as long as you aren't throwing profanity directly in someone's face, most of that stuff is allowed to slide.

Aren't those insults essentially the same thing? If someone shouts a slur about mothers, isn't that effectively disrespecting every mother participating in this community? Similarly, swearing against Jesus, Allah, or other religious figures is an attack on someone's very essence, because that is what faith represents.

Directly insulting someone isn't allowed here. For everything else, you just need to use some common sense and show some restraint, much like you would in a normal conversation.
