Mercedes and Red Bull had to alter F1 suspension designs for 2017...
Basically, both teams were pulling a fast one last season and nobody said a word. πŸ™„
Instead of disqualifying them from last year's standings, they just give them this little polite nudge.
"Hey guys, cheating isn't really cool. Let's play fair, at least until we catch you red-handed again." 😍

It’s common knowledge! 🍿

Because of Ferrari, they were forced to modify their suspension designs.
The FIA allowed Mercedes to run secret tests to their heart's content; one can only wonder what Bernie Ecclestone received in return from Toto Wolff. Red Bull noticed that Mercedes was mixing fuel and oil.
Furthermore, who could forget when Adrian Newey was busy finding loopholes for Red Bull during the Monaco Grand Prix?

Charlie claims they are investigating the oil and fuel mixture;

Whiting Said: β€œWe are certainly monitoring it. We did quite a lot of work on it in Barcelona.

β€œWe are going to inspect all the oil systems here and we are going to randomly check oil consumption to make sure that it is not being used as fuel.”

You should just watch Formula 1 instead of reading all this garbage on a forum. 😁
Though, alright, maybe I'll drop a few smart comments here and there now and then. 😁

Oh, we know exactly what he got...
He got freedom from the German legal system instead of a jail cell. πŸ™‚
Look, without any doubt, it’s crystal clear he’s guilty, but yeah, prison was never on the table...
And lo and behold, that German team became the untouchable No. 1 on the grid right after that.

What truly sets Ferrari's design apart from anything we have witnessed previously is the internal configuration of the S-duct channels within the nose; they are engineered to intersect, ensuring the airflow follows a much smoother contour through the duct, which ultimately allows it to exit onto the upper surface of the monocoque with significantly higher velocity.

And there you have itβ€”they have already pinpointed Ferrari's secret weapon: the S-duct system. 🀦

It is quite fascinating to note that drivers have been granted considerably more leeway when defending their positions;

The FIA has scrapped last year's "Verstappen rule" regarding driver conduct in braking zones, a move clearly intended to provide racers with greater freedom during on-track duels.

In this sport, if you aren't cheating, you aren't competitive. Period. Everyone's doing it. Some are pros at it, some are just amateurs. Occasionally someone actually gets caught, and then the regulators just tweak the rulebook. Meanwhile, the cheatersβ€”sorry, "competitors"β€”just keep right on pushing the limits, just in a different way. It’s an endless loop. Always will be. For as long as this sport exists.

Exactly. The FIA is in such a pathetic spot right nowβ€”they try to screw you over in every possible way, leaving you totally lost, wondering where the actual limit is and where they should finally draw the line.

Guys, when does the first free practice session kick off on our local time? Chips are bought, beer is chilling in the fridge.

Don't worry, both Mercedes and Red Bull knew exactly where the limit was. It's pretty obvious you can't just "bank" energy to suddenly drop the car's ride height on the straights to cut drag, only to have it snap back to a high rake setup for more downforce in the corners. They know the rules all too well.

I wasn't defending them or anything; I'm just saying they're clearly out there trying to cheat the system any way they can.

In every single sport, there's always an attempt to cheat by any means necessary. In most disciplines, we call it doping; therefore, these cars are essentially on performance-enhancing drugs.

For instance, we recently saw a case in cycling where they discovered a tiny electric motor hidden inside the drive hub. It was quite weak, sure, but over a distance like 124 miles it certainly isn't something you can just ignore.

Cheating exists in every arena. Not too long ago in swimming, athletes were using those specialized suits that practically eliminated water friction and drag, which eventually got them banned.

Yeah. On ESPN 2, the broadcast starts at 2:30. There's some F1 insider show playing before it.
