So, it died. Now what?
I’m no handyman, but I took a look—nothing looks scorched or anything, and the breaker hasn't tripped...
Does this thing just go straight into the trash, or is there actually a recycler for this stuff?

Personally, I wouldn't mess around with that... especially if it's an older unit. At the end of the day, the power supply is such a critical component because it feeds everything else in the build—if it fails again, it could easily take the rest of your hardware down with it.

Just rip the fan out and mount it directly onto the case!
Then you take all that copper and sell it for scrap.
As for the rest? Half goes straight in the trash, and the other half—well, you just set it on fire!
