Can anyone tell me if my setup actually supports USB 3.0? And if it doesn't... man, how do I even go about upgrading that πŸ˜‰? I'm totally lost on what I'd even need to buy, since I don't really know much about this stuff yet...

From what I can tell, your motherboard doesn't actually have USB 3.0β€”those are usually the blue ones, right? Most newer boards come with them built-in anyway, and unfortunately, it’s not really something you can just upgrade or slap on later. πŸ™‚

so you're saying there's basically nothing I can do?

Unfortunately, that's a no-go. If you don't mind me asking, why is that specific upgrade such a big deal to you? It’s not like there's a massive, world-changing speed gap between USB 2.0 and 3.0β€”is it really worth swapping out your entire motherboard just for that? Plus, of course, you'd actually need devices that support USB 3.0 to see any of those faster speeds anyway...

So, I've got this external hard drive with USB 3.0, thinking that if I plug it in, the data transfer speeds will actually be faster when moving stuff over to my PC...
