Would you actually go through the trouble of insulting an LCD panel just because the backlight is acting up when everything else works perfectly? Honestly... instead of messing around with replacing the lamp, I just bit the bullet and swapped out the entire screen with one I snagged on eBay. It was a panel for a Dell Latitude
