Hey there. I’ve run into a bit of a snag and am looking for a specific cable described in the title (a NEMA 5-15P male plug to a NEMA 5-15R female socket—just a standard household outlet). Ideally, I'd love to pick this up from an American online retailer, or if anyone happens to have one lying around, please let me know.

It could be a single NEMA 5-15P to a single NEMA 5-15R, or maybe even a single plug to multiple outlets (kind of like a power strip). Here’s a photo for reference:

Thanks,

D.B.

Buy a standard extension cord.
Get a NEMA 5-15P plug (the male end you need).
Strip off the existing US plug and wire in the NEMA 5-15P yourself...
It takes about five minutes.
The tools required:
Wire strippers
A Phillips head screwdriver
A utility knife

And there you have it... simple as that.

there you go, pure genius...

Thanks 🙂 I've got an APC unit with six of those NEMA 5-15C outlets, which is exactly why I'm trying to DIY this. Here’s a link to my APC so you can see what I'm talking about—just click the photo showing the back panel where the outlets are located XD :
