Gaming PC build - around $1,200 budget

I think I posted this yesterday, but it didn't seem to go through. This is an offer from Future. They don't have the RAM I was looking for or the CPU cooler I wanted, and everything is based on that initial suggestion from Microsoft. I guess I'm wondering if what they're offering actually makes sense,

This isn't really following my first suggestion—the motherboard is weaker, the PSU is a bit light, and honestly, skip the case. Since you aren't planning on slapping a liquid cooler in there right away, some of the newer Zalman cases have popped up lately that offer way better airflow.

What’s wrong with the build I suggested on the previous page? You’ve got everything you need in there. If the price tag feels a little steep, you could always swap in a Z3 Plus and grab a WD BLUE if you don't need an SSHD.

Grab the Zalman Z3 along with a case (or maybe the Z5+)—it’s an absolute steal for the price, even cheaper than that junk you were looking at. Those options weren't even on the radar back when we were first putting these builds together; they just hit the market recently. It's similar to how the 280X wasn't exactly a "toxic" outlier either. To put your mind at ease: it isn't significantly quieter than the 290. You're only looking at a 2 dB difference under full load—just a single click—so you aren't actually "sacrificing silence" if you decide to go with the R9 290.

In my opinion, the Intel Core i5-3470 is a better bet for gaming than any AMD processor currently out there. At 3.2 GHz, it pulls in results that match or even beat the FX 8350 at 4.0 GHz—and they're priced about the same. You can also overclock it up to 3.8 - 4.0 GHz, all while pulling less power than the AMD alternative.

I doubt that's likely🙂, but I suppose it's fine to include a photo of some random gear I bought since people are offering help and actually providing it. I should clarify the title: this is an $800 build. That was the plan originally because I intended to put it on credit, but then I came into some extra cash and could only stretch to about $750. I didn't want to bother everyone with more requests for recommendations. Besides, Timothy Fisher79 put this together for me, so thanks again, I guess.

Looking to keep the whole thing around $3.25. Everything looks solid—really top-tier stuff here. These parts have great quality and solid warranties. Honestly, you don't even need a beefier graphics card since you're just sticking to FHD resolution.

The AK-47 isn't even working for a month now... man, you really shouldn't try to cram all that into a Core i7 - Arc Mini. That case just isn't built for a combo like that—plus, your processor is basically useless if you're trying to run a decent GPU. Honestly, if you're looking at $3167, an IPS monitor is pretty much non-negotiable 😉
