What's your favorite movie from IMDb's top 10 right now?

Look, Fight Club is just on another level entirely. As much as I love The Godfather Part I, 12 Angry Men, The Shawshank Redemption, or even Goodfellas, nothing touches it.

Maybe it’s more about the book than the movie itself, but damn, it’s still a masterpiece.

In my opinion, Fight Club doesn't quite measure up to the rest—and look, I think there’s a massive pile of other films out there that absolutely crush Fight Club any day of the week, anywhere you go. It deserves a spot in the conversation, sure, but calling it one of the top 10? Not happening. Don't get me wrong, the movie is great, but let's be real...☕

For me, there isn't even a debate when it comes to which masterpiece stands at the summit of this list: The Godfather Part I.

It’s basically impossible to pick just one standout when you're looking at this lineup of heavy hitters...

Schindler’s List and The Shawshank Redemption are the only ones that matter. Everything else on this list doesn't even come close to breaking into the top 50, let alone the top 10.

12 Angry Men is hands down the best one here; honestly, the only thing on this list that could even come close is The Godfather.

The Shawshank Redemption doesn't deserve that number one spot; honestly, I feel like most of these movies are actually better than it😁.
The movie hits you incredibly hard emotionally, and for a few hours after watching it, I think it's perfect. But once the dust settles and I'm thinking clearly, I find myself wondering what exactly makes it so special.🤔
It’s probably the only movie where I’ve changed my rating on IMDb more than twice. I'll finish it, go online, and give it a 10. Then, after a little while, I'll drop it to an 8, then a 7, then I'll rewatch it and give it a 10 all over again... it's just a constant cycle.😁
A film like that simply can't be my number one.

To make a long story short; out of these ten, my absolute favorite—and arguably the greatest film ever madeThe Godfather—is at the top, followed by The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, then 12 Angry Men, and then The Godfather Part II... everything else comes after those, even if they aren't technically part of my all-time top 10.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is definitely number one for me. I’ve been obsessed with it since I was just a kid, and honestly, it remains my absolute favorite to this day. You just can't beat the combination of Sergio Leone and Ennio Morricone; there isn't a single weak spot in that film. Following that, I'd put Fight Club at number two. It’s such a twisted movie. What really gets me is how everyone follows the protagonist's every command without a second thought, even though he's essentially fighting and arguing with himself. It's wild. Rounding out my top three is Heat.

There's one film that didn't make my top ten, but it absolutely deserves to be there: Amarcord. Watching it feels almost like watching a live-action version of Alan Ford.

Just like any other top ten list out there, I rarely find myself in total agreement, but I’ll certainly give it a shot and weigh in.

Honestly, The Shawshank Redemption is such a fantasy, isn't it? 🤣 It's an incredibly emotional movie, and I'd be lying if I said it didn't touch my heart somehow. It feels inspiring at first glance, but once you really sit with it and let it sink in, there's just so much nonsense baked into the plot. I've never been a fan of those sanitized, "light" versions of prison life, especially when they throw in those nuns who act like thugs or predators but don't actually fit the tone of the story at all. I don't think the movie achieves that heavy, visceral impact it should have because, for the most part, everything just seems too beautiful and perfect.

I have to disagree! The Good, the Bad and the Ugly absolutely belongs there. In fact, I’d put it right in my personal top five given this lineup.

It really comes down to taste, obviously. But in any logical ranking, Fight Club is the only one here that just doesn't fit the bill.

...And oh, I just noticed The Dark Knight on the list.

If I had to narrow it down, my top five would probably be The Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, Pulp Fiction, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and Schindler's List.
I didn't include The Godfather Part II because I suppose I try to avoid listing two films from the same franchise, and The Return of the King isn't included since it’s arguably the weakest of the Lord of the Rings trilogy; if the first or second installments were an option, they might have made the cut.

If you swap out The Shawshank Redemption for 12 Angry Men and keep that order—honestly, I'd bet my last dollar on that lineup being better.

The Godfather is easily the best movie on this list. Honestly, the only one that even comes close is The Godfather Part II, while at least half of the others don't even belong in a top ten...

I watched it when I was just some moody kid and honestly, most of it's still a bit of a blur, but man, it's worth a rewatch.
I've seen plenty of other classics too, and I think those actually stuck with me way better.
