Linda Bailey17 said:Turn 10—that chicane—got turned into a regular corner, so we should definitely see a new lap record this year.

Don't hold your breath—those cars were way faster back then than what we're seeing today.

Drew Bennett68 said:It’s far from over... there are still seven races left on the calendar, and if you look at the time of year and the specific tracks we have coming up, at least two of them should be wet enough to throw everything into chaos...

Every single race they promise us rain, yet it never actually materializes... When was the last time we actually saw a drop...

Drew Bennett68 said:Yeah, definitely worth remembering that.

I bet it’s pretty rough for Alonso when he hits that one turn.

Funny how Pat Symonds didn't show up at the Singapore Grand Prix...
Sky Sports is saying he's too embarrassed to even step foot in the pit lane.

The only time faster than Sebastian Vettel's lap today was Massimo back in Q2 2008...

And looking at the FP2 times, today's pace is over two seconds quicker...
Word is the GP2 pole position today is four seconds faster than last year's...
So yeah, the lap record is definitely going down, and I bet the race hits that two-hour limit before we even see the finish line.

Well, sure, but look at the numbers. Kimi hit a 1:45.599 (the track record from Q2 2008) during today's FP2, and now five different drivers have already beaten that time. The fastest was Sebastian Vettel at 1:44.249. I suspect qualifying times are going to be even lower ☕.

As for Turn 10, Lewis Hamilton mentioned once that it was arguably the worst corner in F1. Now that they've removed it, it’s clearly shaved off enough time to pave the way for a new record...

Some people were clearly watching this on some low-budget local news station in Singapore...

And about that Turn 10—Lewis Hamilton once called it the worst corner in F1. Now that they've removed it, everyone's gained some time... clearly enough to smash the old record...

Vettel is 4 seconds faster than last year's FP2...
GP2 cars are also about 4 seconds faster than last year...

Today's FP2 time is roughly 2 seconds faster than last year's pole position...
Last year, the Fast Lap was only 1:51... whether they actually break Kimi's Fast Lap is the real question.🤷
Depends on if anyone runs on SS tires in the final stint or not.😉
On Medium, they don't stand a chance of beating it, but on SS? They might. It just depends on if anyone is actually out there on them at the end.

Tomorrow will definitely see the fastest pole position yet.

That 1:52 was on full tanks, so I doubt they'll go any faster than 1:51.😬

By the way, Lewis Hamilton set his time on the third attempt (Daniel Ricciardo, for instance, lost about a second just trying to get enough attempts in).

Nice little self-description there, especially with you dropping a link to prove you're just recycling someone else's thoughts. 🤣🤣🤣
Makes me think of that whole mess with the 2007 McLaren and Alonso. 😬

By the way, Lewis Hamilton set his time on the third attempt (Daniel Ricciardo, for example, lost about a second over that many tries).

A 1:51 is definitely happening, no doubt about it. But whether they'll just casually smash Kimi Räikkönen's race lap record of 1:45.599? That’s not such a sure thing...

It really comes down to the tires. If everyone goes for a one-stop strategy, it’s going to be nearly impossible for anyone to hunt down a fast lap at the end of the race...
But if someone pops out on SS during those last 10 laps, they're guaranteed to break the record—even if it's Felipe Massa.😁

Sky Sports is basically saying he was too embarrassed to even show his face in the pit lane.

Personally, I think he’s just dodging a subpoena

Like, imagine getting hauled off by the cops at the Miami Grand Prix Circuit just for spitting gum on the ground

Let alone if you intentionally slam a car—with a live human inside—into a wall just to cheat your way to a win.

I have no clue who thinks that's enough, but even a toddler could probably wrap their head around it.😂

But hey, I get your logic.🤣
By that standard, I guess McLaren didn't even copy Ferrari—they just took Ferrari parts and gave them a fresh coat of paint.🤣🤣🤣
