I usually lay out my clothes and pack my bag for college the night before just to save some time. You should try to get as much done as possible before you go to bed so your mornings aren't such a rush.

Yeah, exactly. Except it doesn't work like that. I struggle with it too—one minute I’m strictly disciplined, almost military style... and then suddenly, I can't hear anything. Not the alarm, not thunder, not even a subway train or someone banging on my door...
So, I finally figured out my winning formula... it goes something like this:
Keep the apartment clean...
Keep everything exactly where it belongs so I don't waste time hunting for stuff later—not that there's anything to hunt for, since everything stays put... then I just grab it and go.
Go to bed without the TV on. No scrolling through your phone, laptop, or iPad beforehand either. Just hit those scented lotions first... maybe some lavender or vanilla...
Set the alarm for 6:00 AM. No snooze button allowed because I know myself—I'll just hit it by mistake since the buttons are too close together... So I set backups for 6:06, 6:13, 6:20, and 6:27. Even if I'm already awake when the first one goes off, they all have to ring. You never know... I might have drifted back off.
Bathroom routine: pee, brush teeth, tongue, face, nose blowing... then hair.
Kitchen routine: heat the milk first, get the coffee brewing while that's going, pour a glass of water, and prep my cup with sugar... once everything's hot, I mix it all and head to my room.
Coffee's on the vanity. I lay everything out exactly how I use it: liquid foundation with the sponge, then the kabuki brush and powder, followed by blush and its brush. Then the detail work... small brushes, eyeshadow one, eyeshadow two, black liner, and finally mascara...
I’ll end up wearing exactly what I was mulling over last night... and refining during my morning bathroom and kitchen run. I don't bother ironing in the morning—that's an evening task. I try to buy low-maintenance stuff from the jump, but if I do grab a shirt, I iron it the second it comes out of the dryer. Honestly, I pull everything out of the washer immediately, give it a good shake, and iron it while it's still fresh and unwrinkled. It only applies to a few items since everything else is basically wrinkle-free...
Get dressed, slap on another coat of mascara since the first layer already dried up, pack away my makeup, toss my coffee mug in the sink, and put my shoes on...
Back to my vanity, swipe on some more red lipstick, a quick spritz of my favorite perfume, toss on a fancy scarf and... I'm ready!!
Plus, I've got my favorites on shuffle on my phone...
One last look in the mirror, grab my jacket, toss on my bag, and let's go...
If I roll out of bed at 6:10, this routine gets me done by 6:33... maybe 6:35 max.
Then I can just head wherever I need to go. If I have to trek across town, I try to be out the door by 6:30... because after that, the traffic starts getting a little crazy...
I’m feeling lazy this weekend. Staying in my pajamas... I already grabbed the milk, bread, and everything else on Friday just so I wouldn't have to leave the house. Unless, of course, I actually head out with friends...

not that I really care since I'm only 12, so I don't need to mess with makeup or anything, plus my mom just handles the laundry and ironing for me anyway... and by the way, it's "combing," not "comb"
Anyway, my morning basically starts when I drag myself out of bed around 6:45, stumble my way into the bathroom, and then do the whole routine you mentioned—you know, pee, wash up, comb my hair, then shuffle over to the kitchen to eat some junk food, head back to the bathroom to brush my teeth, crawl back to my room to get dressed (which actually goes pretty fast because I blast DJ Tiesto on my phone to get moving), then limp over to the shoe rack to put on my sneakers and head out to the corner store where I wait for the bus to take me to school. 😁
Once I get to school, I hit the lobby, kick off my shoes, toss my jacket aside, and just hang by the door with a friend, either tripping people as they walk in or running away from this one girl who totally hates me. 🤣 When everyone finally shows up, we head upstairs to grab our books and pencil cases, then we're basically sprinting through the halls until the teacher for that period spots us, and then we end up in the homeroom meeting where the teacher starts lecturing and I just drift off to sleep until someone nudges me awake, and then we go to class, and then there's recess where we're back to messing around in the hallways, and then it's just one period after another until sixth period. If you have sixth period off, you spend the time running around the school doing stupid stuff, but if you don't, you're stuck in class. Then we change clothes, throw on our jackets, and wait for the buses, usually just causing chaos around the school entrance while we wait. Once the buses arrive, we keep being idiots on the ride, and when the bus stops, people either get off to go home or stay on until the very last stop. I stay on until the end. 😁 Then I get home and eat more junk, scribble through my homework as fast as I can, read whatever book I'm supposed to be reading, and then jump on the computer. Just wasting my life away on forums and gaming. 🤣 By seven o'clock, I've eaten again, thrown on my pajamas, and gone to bed. And then I wake up, and yeah, you get the idea. 🤣
hollowtinker40 said:First of all, "comb" is perfectly valid, just like "comb."
hollowtinker40 said:First off, "comb" is fine, but since schools use all sorts of different textbooks, who cares? Grammar is clearly just a suggestion at this point...
Second, it's "subscribe," not "suscribe." 🤣😍
Third, kid, your problem is easy to fix—just have a parent or grandparent shake you awake until you actually get out of bed. Your one job is to jump up, brush your teeth, get dressed, and get moving to school.
And once you graduate, maybe swing by the forum again. 😁

Back in Elementary School, I was always struggling to catch the bus. I'd wake up at 7:00, and the bus wouldn't come until 7:35. Then I realized if I just got up 10 minutes earlier, I'd make it every single time without any stress 👍
