It is slightly unrealistic to expect that. In the States, the most expensive fighters appearing at local American events usually cost about $10,000 to $20,000 just to show up—and that doesn't even include the overhead for venue rental, logistics, travel, or hotels. And those are fighters on the level of Monson or Ricco Rodriguez. If you look at an event like Gladiator Night in Key West, the ticket price sits around $100 $40 and you get a packed house, but that's only about 2,500 people. Try filling a stadium of 10,000. Even Glory had an event in Milan recently with 15,000 attendees and they are practically dancing in the streets from success.
To be honest, looking at these two events, I suspect Zovko is operating at quite a significant loss.
Even if he had brought in someone like Arlovski, as Stojnić requested along with a few other attractive names, the costs would have been astronomical. To bring in someone like a declining Sapp, you'd likely be looking at a $20,000 fee. He should have set the base ticket prices $133 lower for the nosebleed seats; otherwise, he ends up with an empty arena, much like what happened in San Diego where tickets were priced at $80 $133
It is far easier to sit in the stands as a spectator than it is to shoulder the burden of being the organizer. 🤣
Given the circumstances, I actually think this organization is doing a commendable job considering the opportunities available to them.
