No, the top part isn't even LIES (though I doubt they tolerate that kind of thing there either).
The top is just a PDF of the world, "American Civil War".

The commenter's explanation: he's simply relaying someone else's statement.
Man, he was born yesterday; he seriously needs a search engine. 😠 And everyone else? Basically just fools...

The mod isn't reacting, even after pointing out the issue in the thread.
Nobody even replied to my two posts over at unknown, probably because using the word "Jew" is considered perfectly fine on this forum.

It’s good to stay informed. Just so we know where we stand...

Please accept my apologies for the oversight on my part. This post has been sanctioned. Just as we do not permit the use of derogatory synonyms for any group of people, it follows logically that we cannot allow similar language here, especially given how offensive the context regarding anatomy was in this instance.

While our response might have been somewhat delayed, I suppose there isn't a real need to start dedicated threads on the unknown forum for isolated incidents like this one. Perhaps a quick private message to any of the moderators would have resolved the matter more efficiently.

Oh, the hypocrisy is just unreal!

I highly doubt Google has an entry explaining why certain ethnic slurs are offensive, right? It’s just a matter of whether a term is unacceptable on an American forum. Because it's insulting!

Absolute silence on their end, though... nothing at all.

We can't have one set of rules for us and a completely different set for everyone else...

I suppose we can't expect one standard for some people and a different one for others.

I feel, perhaps, that you might have made a bit more of a fuss than was truly necessary. The moderators aren't exactly under a contractual obligation to be present on the Forum at every single moment, and I think these matters usually get handled routinely once we log back in.

Well, since the matter is resolved now, I would hope that similar outbursts won't happen again—though, I should mention that the thread regarding Syria has been one of the better, more high-quality discussions lately, which is why I didn't anticipate this kind of thing, and maybe that is why I didn't notice it sooner.

I would suggest that this thread could probably be locked now.

I would like to distance myself from any gossip involving my fellow moderators. I don't believe it is particularly fair or decent to do so, nor do I think anyone has done anything wrong. I feel that when we face a dilemma, we all have both the right and perhaps even the responsibility to wait for a second opinion, especially on topics where the opposing sides are as intensely divided as they are regarding the situation in Syria.

That word is pretty much archaic—it’s definitely offensive by today's standards, but back then? Not really. It was just how people talked.

Back in the old days in certain parts of the US, people used the term "gypsy" when referring to a Jew.

Like how Romani people don't always get worked up when you call them Gypsies. I know a few, and they just use that term among themselves all the time... 😁
Back in the days of the Republic of Venice, they were called Jedupi or Egyptians, though who still uses those terms down south is anyone's guess.

But hey, there's always those people who are more devout than the Pope...☕

That doesn't exactly justify using it today, though.

I mean, seriously—you couldn't go around calling Black people nigger here in the USA just because the word used to be considered acceptable (I guess it shows up quite often in Twain's Huckleberry Finn) — which, by the way, was way less offensive than the slur coon. (And hey, now you've got the Maine Coon cat breed.)

Well, Jews over here don't take offense at being called Jews. In places like Canada or Mexico, for instance, that term hasn't really carried the same weight.

Some parts of the Romani community reject the label "Romani" because they've just been known as Gypsies in this area for forever. I guess that’s one way to take the sting out of an insult.

But look, Jew is strictly a slur in modern American English.
