Is camping in the left lane of a two-way residential street legal?

I don't mind stepping aside to be polite, but I can't stand idiots who tailgate and crowd my bumper just because they think everyone should get out of their way. People like that only slow me down further.

You've got a point. It really just comes down to one simple question: why is it so hard for people to respect the rules? I’d love to see how you'd react if some guy walked right into a Starbucks and cut to the front of the line just because he was in a rush.
If you're going to be rude and break the law, at least have the decency not to get mad at the people actually following the rules.
I try to stay in the left lane, but sometimes it’s impossible to satisfy the people who drive like they're in a demolition derby. It happened to me on the interstate the other day—I moved into the left lane at over 80 mph to make room for someone merging, and this idiot in a tuned-up car doing nearly 130 mph tailgated me instantly and started flashing his high beams. Once I finally cleared the guy who was merging, this lunatic swerved into the right lane to pass me, cut me off within three feet, and tapped his brakes. If I had been some distracted driver and slammed my brakes, I could have totaled myself, my wife, and our three kids, and he probably wouldn't have even realized what he did. If he’d just misjudged the pass and hit me instead, we wouldn't be having this conversation...
Yeah, honestly, you've gotta stay cool and just walk away from people like that. Playing vigilante is just a losing game.
You’ve gotta stay chill, even when people are acting like geniuses—you know, those drivers who wait until the absolute last second to merge from a turning lane into straight traffic while everything is backed up. And you have to keep your cool even when someone says something completely unhinged or aggressive to you.
