So, back in October, I ended up with bursitis because my shoulders kept giving out on me during lifts. Now, this constant ache stretching from my lateral delts down to my triceps is making it a total pain to get through workouts or even just deal with normal daily life.
Does anyone have some advice on how I might tackle this on my own without having to go see a doctor?

Who actually gave you that bursitis diagnosis?

Just some private orthopedic specialist I saw for an ultrasound.

It’s pretty likely that something in your shoulder socket isn't sitting quite right, probably a lingering result of those falls you mentioned.
Bursitis usually happens because of those kinds of misalignments. Honestly, the only real way out is consistent physical therapy to gradually get everything back in its proper place.

Okay, but what kind of exercises are we talking about?
Like, can I use dumbbells or maybe some resistance bands to try and sort this out?

Both. You really need to focus on hitting those deep rotator cuff muscles first. They’re the ones that actually control how your humerus sits in the shoulder socket.

Just look up some rotator cuff routines online. There are tons of videos out there that break down exactly how to train those tiny but vital little muscles.

Once you’ve spent a few months consistently working on your rotator cuff exercises, you should probably start layering in some work for the anterior, lateral, and posterior heads of the deltoid. From what I’ve seen, the rear delt is usually the weak link in most people's shoulder stability. In my experience, if you aren't putting extra emphasis on those rear delt movements, you're missing a step.

ccaterpillar thanks so much 👍
I honestly didn't even think to hit up YouTube for some exercises to deal with this rotator cuff and bursitis mess 🙂
