Thyroglossal duct cyst on the neck

Could someone walk me through what the recovery actually looks like? I feel pretty clear on the surgery itself, but I’m a bit lost on the aftermath. What am I looking at once it's over? Will I be able to eat normally or talk without issues? Also, how long am I going to be stuck in a hospital bed? Thanks a million in advance!

I’m basically just arguing with myself here. Or maybe I’m not even arguing, because how do you explain this? I went in for surgery only to find out the cyst was gone. Like, seriously? I’ve been tracking this thing on ultrasounds for two years. The very last scan showed it had actually grown, which is why they scheduled the procedure in the first place. Then, suddenly, it just vanishes within a fourteen-day window.
