Sorry if this topic’s already been covered or if there’s something similar floating around here.
Basically, here’s the deal. It all started yesterday morning. After sleeping for like 12 hours straight, I woke up feeling completely off. I had zero appetite, which is weird because I’m usually starving the second I open my eyes. I barely managed half a sandwich between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Then, throughout the day, I keep getting these random shakes and this bizarre sensation in my head. I can’t even put a finger on it. It feels like I’m coming down with a cold, but I don't actually have any symptoms of one.

I’m 17. Aside from having poor circulation—my hands and feet are always freezing—I haven’t dealt with any major health issues.

EDIT: Could this be chickenpox? I never actually caught it growing up, but I was hanging out near a kid who had it about two weeks ago. All I’ve noticed so far is some itching around my groin area and maybe two or three breakouts on my head.

So, how are you feeling right now?

Have you actually checked if you have a fever? You might be running a temperature, and honestly, that weird brain fog you're feeling could totally just be from dehydration.

Try a few quick tests—touch your chest with your chin, move your tongue side to side, and then try to touch your nose while standing up with your eyes closed. Or even better, see if you can balance on one leg with your eyes shut.

It’s hard to say for sure, but it could be chickenpox since the timing fits the incubation period, or maybe just the flu or strep throat. There's also a million other things it could be, especially if you're feeling super run down.

Just keep an eye on your temperature, keep drinking plenty of water, and definitely find someone to check in on you.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like they’re most likely chickenpox.
Just checked my temperature and I'm sitting at 101.3. Whatever. Probably should hit up a doctor tomorrow just to be safe and see what's what..

Honestly, if you’ve definitely got chickenpox, I’d probably skip heading straight to the doctor's office, mostly because it's super contagious through the air and you don't want to accidentally start an outbreak in the waiting room.

It's probably better to just hang out at home and keep an eye on things; you might be running a fever for maybe 5 to 7 days while those spots start popping up all over.

Maybe give your doctor a quick call just to get some pointers on what to do, though everyone seems to have different ideas—some people swear by calamine lotion, others say skip it, and then there's the whole debate over using antiseptics or not.

I ended up getting hit with it when I was 19, and man, it was brutal, just spots everywhere piled on top of each other. Total nightmare. My fever lasted about three days.

Hang in there!

If those little bumps on your head are starting to itch, it might mean they're already starting to break out.
