Look, you just gotta realize that nobody gives a damn about you at the gym—just like you don't give a damn about anyone else there! (Unless, obviously, you look like Scarlett Johansson and show up in a see-through tank top)

It’s perfectly normal to feel that way—it’s like walking into your first day of college or starting a new job for the first time. I usually just grind it out at home with some basic gear and a home gym setup, but today I’m heading to a commercial gym since I can't train here. Honestly, I felt that same knot in my stomach too; a little bit of anxiety, wondering if people would judge you or laugh. But trust me, that feeling evaporates after a week or two once you just put your head down and get to work. Don't overthink it. If you're unsure about how to use a machine, just ask someone; most people are happy to help.

Thought I’d jump in here and share my own story! I’ve been hitting up the gym for about two and a half years now. Honestly, starting out was pretty intimidating—I’d never lifted a weight in my life, and I was carrying around maybe 30 extra pounds. But you eventually get used to it once you realize that, well, nobody is actually staring at you! Plus, the regulars are usually super helpful and give you tips on how to fix your form. Fast forward to today, and I'm down about 30 pounds, I look way better, I feel amazing, and honestly? Going to the gym has become a bit of an addiction—in a totally good way, of course. Everyone keeps telling me how much of a difference it's making, too.
Oh, and I finally got over my fear of running outside, so now it feels totally normal to head out for a quick thirty-minute jog around the neighborhood every morning or evening.
