So, I'm a little behind the curve when it comes to the latest PC tech, so I could really use some help here...

Here's what's on my mind... I'm looking for a monitor that can double as a TV. Does anyone have any solid recommendations? And honestly, is it actually worth getting one of these setups? THANKS!😉

Just grab a standard PC monitor and pop a digital tuner card right into your computer

And why not just pick up a 23" TV that doubles as a monitor? Something with a DVI or HDMI input/output... 😉

If you're planning on using it for typing, the text sharpness just isn't there. For gaming? It's actually a pretty decent TV. Generally speaking, though, picture quality on LCD TVs takes a hit compared to dedicated LCD monitors—mostly because you can't get that perfect 1:1 pixel mapping. Plus, blacks usually end up looking more like a dark gray or navy blue instead of true black.

You can check out the breakdown regarding quality in the final section here:

I've been thinking about switching to a smaller TV, but I keep hearing people claim that a computer monitor is actually better for your eyes—even if you don't turn the TV off. Is there any actual truth to that eye strain theory?

Look, monitors are built for PC use. TVs are made for watching shows 🤣
Just grab the monitor and call it a day. I actually use a 32" Samsung TV as my monitor from about three feet away. It works fine for gaming. Battlefield 3 is legendary. Honestly, I had some pretty bad headaches during the first few days, but after about six months, they just stopped
