The previous thread with a similar title was getting totally cluttered with everyone's random issues, so I figured it’s better to just start fresh here. I want to focus specifically on user privacy on this forum. Honestly, what sparked this for me was seeing people post links to photos of girls—just regular users like Melissa Martin32—who are just here to have fun and show off a bit. From what I can tell, a few subforums are pretty much dedicated to that kind of stuff. Sorry in advance if I'm overthinking this, and feel free to tell me to shut up if you think I'm making a big deal out of nothing.

My stance on this is pretty set in stone. I've talked about it in other threads before, and some of my favorite regulars have given me great advice. I've taken some of it to heart and ignored the rest.
At the end of the day, it's up to you how much you care about privacy. Some people are super guarded, others don't care at all. Some people just want to make the community laugh, while others want to stay totally under the radar. Different strokes for different folks.

So, how much do you guys actually value your privacy? What do you do to protect yourself while still being active in a public space like this forum?

I remember an admin saying once that user privacy is a huge deal, so hopefully this thread finds its place here. Back in the day, discussions on this subforum didn't get so bogged down, and looking through the older archives, I'm hoping we can keep it that way.
If the newer members aren't up to speed on how things used to work, feel free to teach them the ropes.

Also, please don't come at me with attitude if you don't care about privacy. If you can't be civil, just ignore me. It's much easier.

Everyone was busy flashing themselves on this forum while I was just sitting here 🙂

But let's get back to the topic
Someone put it perfectly once: if you want privacy, get offline...

You need to back up those claims with actual evidence—links, please!!

Where are these girls you're talking about? 😁

Hey guys!

I’m trying to keep this thread as serious as possible, especially if we actually decide to talk about privacy. So, please keep it real when you share your experiences. If you're just here to troll, grab your keyboard and go spam some other thread instead.

This thread is trying its hardest to be serious—at least as much as possible—in case people actually decide to talk about privacy. So, I’m asking you to please give me some real answers and share your experiences, or just grab your keyboards and go spam some other thread somewhere else.

I think you accidentally spelled "bold" correctly. 🥳

...I honestly don't see why anyone would be posting about privacy protections, the logic behind them, or specific methods here
there's already a PDF on the forum dedicated entirely to those discussions, and frankly, this sub isn't the place for it...

I’m also thinking this might not be the best thread for a discussion like this. Maybe try posting it somewhere else? You could look online, or perhaps check out Social Science, Women's Corner, or even Coffee & Socializing, just like Tomisličak suggested...
