And where did he end up once those thugs finally cornered him? Or did he manage to slip away?😕

Maybe they all just split up and went their separate ways after everything went down, but honestly, Tom isn't the reason for that. I mean, she doesn't even realize he’s the one pulling the strings and orchestrating the whole mess—not until she actually sits down and reads that letter. And let me tell you, there is zero chance she called the cops on him afterward. She won't, and she never will.

Ashley Grant66 As I have observed in previous discussions, it seems there is a recurring pattern here. One cannot help but notice how certain arguments tend to circle back to the same tired conclusions, regardless of the evidence presented. It is quite exhausting, really.
Honestly, I just don't understand how more people didn't find this absolutely grating. When I sit down to watch a psychological thriller, my primary interest—the very reason for watching—is to dissect the psyche of the protagonist. It’s the core of the genre. Yet, in that one scene where he’s interviewing with the radio host, we were given nothing but mere crumbs. It was incredibly unsatisfying.

I find myself in disagreement here. Personally, I have always preferred an *in medias res* approach. The film begins, we are presented with a character exactly as they are, and as the audience, we simply accept that reality and move forward. That’s all there is to it. Would you truly be more satisfied if, in the opening minutes, we were forced through some tedious flashback to the protagonist's childhood just to witness a scene of their father mistreating them? I doubt it. 🤷

How is it even physically possible for a guy to be constantly assaulting a woman without her ever noticing anything out of the ordinary? I mean, regardless of how potent that drug he was using to incapacitate her might have been, there has to be some level of awareness. It defies logic.

Well, that much is painfully obvious. The guy has a kid.

👋 mannnn, now this right here is the real deal. This is basically the answer to everything Prometheus ever asked.

So wait, there's actually already a kid in the mix? 🤦

If this were aiming for a deep psychological study, it would be an entirely different movie. This is just your run-of-the-mill thriller, much more predictable than I anticipated. You can tell from the opening scenes which way it's heading... it reminds me of The Perfect Host (2010), though that one was bloodier, and honestly, I didn't care much for either. The premise itself was intriguing, but I'm not a fan of how they executed the formula. It feels like a rather uninspired series of naive, silly events directed by someone lacking vision, featuring characters that just don't grab you. Some plot points feel forced, like that whole complication with the neighbor across the street. Toss in that tacky ending, and my overall impression is that we're looking at a third-rate flick. Still, considering how little effort went into it, the result isn't a total disaster. 6/10

I mean, honestly, it wouldn’t hurt if they threw in some kind of flashback involving some old trauma during a dream sequence 🤷

Honestly, those kinds of explanations just don't land for me—if they’d actually shown those "traumas," I probably would have been 🤮
Plus, you don't even need to have some deep-seated trauma to enjoy a movie.
But hey, maybe I'm just being picky—like electriccanyon26 said, if they went that route, it would be an entirely different film. For me, this works fine as a quick adrenaline rush—a solid thriller where deep character studies might actually feel out of place. Still, I can't help feeling like it missed a chance to tackle a more interesting theme. boohoo: 😁

kajaznati, just imagine if this had been directed by someone like Polanski.

Solid flick and pretty tense, but that’s about it.
There are definitely better ones out there.

Or maybe even Almodovar.

I think it’s probably better if we just imagine this movie was directed by Polanski. 😁

So, bottom line? The guy was just bored out of his mind at work, and honestly, opportunity makes a thief. ☕

Just rewatched this flick—honestly one of the best in the genre—so here’s my two cents...

Patrick Martin said:poor girl just sobbing and clutching that baby, totally helplesswhile he's over there shaving and grinning like an idiot. pure gold🙂 🤦

And get this, you can catch a tiny tear rolling down her left cheek in the mirror... 🤣(probably just shaving water, but let's call it a tear for the sake of the movie😁)
Man, she's weeping from heartbreak while he's practically beaming with joy! 🙏 🙏
