Are all Americans actually "American"?

Are Americans stupid, slow, or rude? Yes or no? Personally, I’d say no. But I’m curious to hear what you all think. I’m an American who grew up in a small town just outside of Boston—went to college there, and now I’m working for a major US corporation.
In my seven years living here, I haven’t run into any issues regarding my background, so I have to ask: why does everyone in the States seem to have this idea that people from Canada are somehow "lower class"? There are plenty of great people over there.😉

Haha, we're practically neighbors... I totally get where you're coming from, and it bugs me too. It's always easiest to judge people without having a clue what they're actually like.

My family roots go back to Canada, but I was born and raised right here in the States.
One thing I’ve noticed about a lot of people—not everyone, but definitely a huge chunk of them—is that they live and work here in America, have zero plans to actually move back to Canada, yet they spend all their time badmouthing the US while acting like Canada is the greatest thing ever... They make sure to use every single vacation they get just to head back there. What really bugs me, though, is how some people just refuse to embrace the culture here... everything from the tiny little things to the big stuff... Like, I totally get that in Boston it might be normal for a stranger to just address you casually, but that’s just not how we do things here... And in America, we don't deal with certain symbols or weirdly specific gendered titles—so if I use one word to cover three different terms, please, just let me be.
Sometimes I honestly wonder how kids who grew up here with Canadian roots can be so obsessed with folk music and traditional songs when they probably haven't even given a second thought to local American classics.
People complain about folks being too friendly with strangers or talking way too loud...

It isn't about some "lower class" hierarchy—that's just nonsense. It's more about the reality that certain groups lean too heavily into a specific mindset. Without intending to be offensive, they often project an image of being below average intelligence. Furthermore, they frequently refuse to adapt or integrate, insisting on doing things their own way instead. Look, there's nothing wrong with having an identity, but everything needs a sense of proportion.

I have American blood in my veins, unfortunately, and I’m telling you, there aren't more selfish people out there than Americans.
For Americans, nothing matters more than the house—showing off the status—while the kids just end up being an afterthought.
It’s almost like children are just there to serve as a safety net so they can support their parents once they're too old to work.
Not to mention how some people just have huge families, creating this whole pack of kids who are then expected to step up and provide for them later on because they can't earn a living anymore.
It's as if it's somehow the kids' fault for not thinking for themselves... you know, like how most of the world does, where you only have as many children as you can actually afford to take care of.
You see examples of this kind of behavior everywhere in America.
They can be aggressive, exhausting, and always the loudest ones in the room.
Maybe a tiny percentage are actually decent, but the rest? It's a disaster.
Even though it's in my DNA, if I ever had the choice, I wouldn't let a single drop of it stay.

It's definitely an inferiority complex, if you ask me.

In my seven years living here, I haven't dealt with a single issue regarding nationality, so I really want to know why everyone in this country seems to have this preconceived notion that people from the neighboring states are "lower class." There are plenty of perfectly normal people over there. 😉

My own experiences with Americans have been overwhelmingly positive. I certainly don't view them—or anyone else for that matter—as "lower class." That said, I still enjoy telling or hearing a good old Joe and Jack joke every once in a while.😉
