Alright, I’m working with a pretty tight budget—somewhere in the $300-$350 range—and I’m looking to get some gaming done. 😁

If you were in my shoes, how would you approach this?

New build options:
Intel Core i5 with integrated graphics, 8GB DDR3 2133 MHz RAM (2x4GB), and a 275GB SSD

Used build options:
i5 2500k, ASUS ROG Maximus, Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x 4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 RAM—as for the GPU, I'm torn between an EVGA GeForce RTX or an NVIDIA GeForce GTX.

What's the verdict? Should I play it safe with something new, or go the used route?

Used, and honestly, you should grab them ASAP—that motherboard and CPU combo is a total steal 😛

The GPUs actually share the exact same chip... the 270X is basically just a rebranded HD 7870 with some bumped-up clock speeds.

I'll probably just grab the HD 7870 instead—it's about $20 cheaper anyway.😁
Thanks!
