I think I asked this somewhere else before—is it actually against the rules to put a link to my blog in my signature? No one ever gave me a straight answer.

From what I gathered while digging through the forum guidelines, it’s a no-go. You can only promote your stuff in those specific designated sub-forums, not in your signature, right?

Am I remembering that correctly, or am I totally off base here?
Because if blog links in signatures aren't allowed, I assume you guys wouldn't mind if we reported people who break that rule—wouldn't you?

Personal blogs in your signature are permitted, provided they aren't commercial ventures or violating our community guidelines

From what I could gather while wading through the forum rules... it’s a no-go. Apparently, you can only promote your blog in the specific sections designated for that kind of thing—certain sub-forums specifically meant for self-promotion—not just tucked away in everyone's signature, right?

Am I remembering that correctly, or am I totally off base here?
And look, if having a blog in your signature is against the rules, then surely you wouldn't mind if we reported those types of users, would you? I mean, you'd want that, wouldn't you? Exactly.

Oh, and why on earth would anyone be such a cheapskate about it? Please, enlighten me—what exactly do they gain from being so stingy?

I am the proud proprietor of a certain blog mentioned in my signature—though I’ve omitted the actual link, purely for my own mischievous amusement. I maintain that any individual possessing even a modicum of intelligence would find it essential reading; however, if you are particularly eager to pay for such enlightenment, I would be more than happy to provide my bank details so you can arrange a commercial transaction.

Now, I’d love to know exactly what my "crime" was here: 😕🤷
