Alright, so here’s the deal... I’m 15, and I just got tapped by the US National Sports Federation for a two-week training trip over in China. 😍 But now I’ve hit a massive roadblock πŸ™‚ We have to fly there, and honestly? I am terrified of heights. Like, seriously. πŸ™‚ So, I wanted to askβ€”have any of you guys flown much? Can anyone give me some actual advice on how to deal with this fear? Maybe there’s a pill or something I can take to stop the panic? Also, if you could share your own travel stories, it would really help me get my head straight. πŸ˜‰

Go grab some LSD.

Otherwise, just throw on some music, put your headphones in, and sip on some water or maybe a little fruit juice.πŸ˜‰

What hollowsailor48 is getting at hereβ€”it’ll basically just help you cope with the sensation of plummeting toward the earth after your plane disintegrates at 33,000 feet. Honestly, you’d probably just drop dead from a heart attack mid-fall anyway. But hey, if you were traveling by train, boat, or car, your odds of dying are technically higher. So, who knows, right?

Is there any way you can bring a plus one along?
If you're open to it, I'm volunteering. I promise to be such a massive nuisance regarding altitude and flight jitters that you'll basically be forced to let me tag along just to get some peace and quiet. 😍

Honestly, you’ve got nothing to worry about. I know, I knowβ€”easy for me to say, right? But seriously, flying isn't actually that big of a deal. For me, it honestly feels just like riding a Greyhound bus. The only time you really notice anything is during takeoff and landing when your ears pop or you feel that shift in pressure, but even that only lasts for a few minutes. If heights freak you out, my best advice is to just avoid looking out the window while you're landing or taking off. Once you hit 6.2 miles altitude, you don't even really get that sensation of being high up anyway. You'll just see clouds drifting beneath you.

I wouldn't say I have a fear of heights, per se, but honestly? Flying is absolutely terrifying for me. I've managed to pull it off five times now, but it’s always a struggle. It isn't really about how high up we are, either; it's more about having some music playing in my ears to drown everything else out. In fact, I think the most important thing is making sure my music is loud enough to block out the pilot when they start announcing our altitude over the intercom... wouldn't that just be the best way to stay calm?

I’m absolutely terrified of heights, and honestly, flying doesn't help much either, though I did manage to power through some turbulence on a flight to Canada once...😁To be perfectly honest, takeoff is the worst part for me. You can really feel that moment when the plane pulls away from the ground and starts climbing, which is nerve-wracking, even if it only lasts about ninety seconds. Landing, though? That's almost a relief because you know the ordeal is finally over and you're getting closer to solid ground. As for the actual flight itself, if there isn't any turbulence, it’s just plain boring. I guess you just have to pass the time with a good book or some music, sort of like being stuck on a long bus ride or a road trip...

I deal with claustrophobia, and sometimes I start to panic when I'm on a crowded bus because it feels so cramped... I just try to ignore it, take some deep breaths, and distract myself with something else...
Give it a shot...

YOU CAN CONQUER FEAR IF YOU JUST FACE IT HEAD-ONπŸ˜‰

Look, if you can, I’m volunteering. I promise I won't bore you to death with non-stop lectures about altitude and flight mechanics just so I can tag along. 😍

There's gonna be about twenty of us, so don't sweat itπŸ˜‰ but hey, you're more than welcome to join the crew 😁

I won't be able to stop myself from peeking out the window, though... but hey, sounds pretty promising. πŸ™‚

That’s why I feel like planes should have those "window shades"β€”you know, like the roll-down covers you see in moviesβ€”so you can't see anything at all! 😁

What am I gonna do, open the window and hang a towel over it once we're airborne? 🀣
