I'll see once I actually check the status of the listing 😁 But I'll definitely let you know what was decided and what the final price ended up being 🙂

This one’s definitely the smarter move.
It looks better, it's basically half the price, and the specs are identical.

You’ve got your wires crossed here. 😬

That model uses those tiny little ink cartridges, but that's not what we're talking about. We're discussing the ones with the massive ink tanks on the side—the ones that actually keep you from going broke every time you hit "print."

Didn't it strike you as weird that it was half the price despite having the exact same specs?

Just wanted to share a quick win... finally snagged an HP Envy plus three packs of photo paper (I think it’s the 50-sheet A4 bundles, but I haven't cracked the seal yet). Not entirely sure what the bonus accessory is—it was tossed in like a gift from a horse, so no way to tell if it's actually any good. Total damage, including shipping out to my place in Chicago, was $899.00. Honestly? I'm pretty happy with the haul. 🙏
p.s. There was a bit of a drama earlier when they tried to charge me the full retail price instead of the sale price. I just picked up the phone, hinted at calling the Better Business Bureau, and suddenly the seller's attitude did a complete 180. Everything settled itself exactly how God intended... everyone walking away happy, no red tape required. 😁

Well, first post and it's already a total mess... you really need readers who actually process what they read, otherwise we'll always have these clueless types floating around. You're mixing up cheap moonshine with high-end Kentucky bourbon just because they're both whiskey... they aren't even remotely the same quality, let alone the price...🤦

When you get a paper jam and that flimsy little sensor lever snaps on an old Epson, it won't matter if it's an L210 or a Windows XP machine—they'll both end up in the trash. One is old, one is new, but they both have sensor systems built out of gingerbread instead of actual parts. Either way, you're still left with a headache.

I’m currently going through the setup process for this Epson L210... how long does it actually take for this thing to prep itself? It’s been rattling away for about 15 minutes now while it does its thing. Also, just wanted to clear up a quick mistake regarding those paper "gifts" mentioned earlier—it wasn't photo paper, just standard 80g/m2 copier paper. I got three packs, but I'm honestly not sure if they were 250 or 500 sheets each. The front of the packaging says A4 x 250 sheets, but the back says white copier paper, A4 x 500 sheets, made in Italy... so now I’m sitting here wondering if I actually have 750 sheets or 1500. I did notice the resolution on this 2015 L210 is 1200x600, which I think is about the same as my ancient scanner from back in 2007 or 2008. For what I need, though, it’s plenty. darkowl72, thanks for the note, but it looks like a pretty solid find to me... not that I have anything against a professional (and since I'm a pro myself, I have to look out for my own interests 😉). Anyway, it’s been about 18 minutes now and the green start light is blinking 🙏

I guess 😬 I'm saying the same thing... you know how it goes. Some repair guy shows up, curses out everyone who worked on it before him because they absolutely trashed it, fixes it, and leaves. Then the second he walks out the door, the whole thing breaks again. 😬

It’s not like a camera where higher resolution automatically means better. A 300 dpi scan is usually total overkill if you're just looking at a JPEG on a screen or printing it out; there's way too much data being captured that you can't even see. It just eats up space. Now, a 600 dpi TIFF? That's getting into "serious work" territory where you could actually take it to a pro print shop. Anything beyond that is strictly for high-end pros. Color depth matters too, and the format...

So, I’ve been looking at this HP DeskJet, and I'm noticing a bit of a gap in the software suite... It doesn't seem to come with any dedicated photo editing or album creation tools for when you're scanning—nothing like what you'd find with Canon's ArcSoft Photostudio or PhotoBase. There’s also no specialized tool for tweaking photo print settings, like Canon’s Easy Print, nor anything for text processing like their OmniPage. The software feels pretty Spartan, honestly. That said, from what I can tell after such a short time using it, it seems to hit exactly what I'm looking for... just a straightforward, hopefully budget-friendly way to handle my copying, scanning, and printing. It looks like it might actually be a better deal than going with Canon

I tracked down and got the HP easy photo print app installed, but I’m still hunting for a decent scan editing program—something to handle PDFs or photos similar to how Canon ArcSoft PhotoStudio works.

Is this supposed to be easy photo printing?

darkowl72, I just downloaded Easy Photo Print... it’s basically the same deal as what I used with my old Canon setup. The color nuances might be a little off, but it gets the job done. The real issue is that functionality I used to have with my Canon scanner—that ability to scan a document or a photo and save it directly into a photo album or a database, or send it straight to an editing program like ArcSoft Photo Studio to then move it to an album, a file, or just hit print immediately. My HP DeskJet doesn't seem to have that option (unless it's just basic copy-print functions) or maybe I'm just missing how to work it 🤦 . It makes things such a massive headache when you're trying to copy some text that needs editing—you know, deleting parts or overwriting them—especially when everything is stuck in JPEG format. Or even worse, trying to process scanned text into a PDF using OmniPage, which was bundled right along with the Canon scanner and those other two programs. At the end of the day, a standard copier works fine and the printer itself is okay, but the actual scanning workflow is just terrible... I can't... I don't... I just don't get it. Any advice from you good people? 🙏 🤔

Now, when you mention it... Honestly, looking back (I used to have an HP, now I’ve switched to Canon), even though I never really messed around with those extended features, yeah, Canon definitely feels like it offers way more functionality and options than my old HP did. 🤷

Hey, can anyone help me out?

My printer works fine for everything else, but whenever I try to scan a document, it won't open the folder where the file is supposed to go—it just throws an error saying there’s not enough memory. 🤔
I definitely have plenty of memory, and the folder is totally empty, so I'm stumped on how to fix this.

If anyone knows what's going on, I'd really appreciate the advice...

thanks 🙂

Not enough info here, and honestly, there are a million things that could be causing this. If I were you, I’d start by just nuking the printer software and doing a clean reinstall.

Also, when exactly does the error pop up? Is it during the actual scan or after? And what do you mean the folder "can't be opened"? Can you actually locate it if you navigate through Users? There should be something in there—any files with numbered names? Those should be your scans. Can you actually double-click one and open it?

First thing though, please go to My Computer and check how much free space you actually have left on your C: drive...

And first things first—go check My Computer and see how much free space you've actually got on your C: drive...

The error hits right when it finishes scanning and tries to pull up the folder where the file was saved—it looks like this.

I already checked my drives and I've got plenty of space...
Gonna try the reinstall and see if that kills the error once and for all..

Are you sure there's enough room on your C: drive? That's the only one that matters here. If you haven't messed with any settings, that's where everything gets saved—usually under Users/your name/Documents/MyImageGarden.

It sounds like the Canon software probably botched the installation, so you might need to just wipe it and reinstall. Or maybe you're just running out of memory. Do you even know how much RAM or disk space you've got left?

Wait, hang on. Can you actually go into that folder right now and try clicking on one of the scans to open it? What happens when you do?

Try a different approach to get started—just navigate directly to the folder where the document lives. If you're trying to open it through some Canon interface right now, it might just be glitching out.

Quick question... I just picked up an HP DeskJet, $390, it came with yellow, cyan, magenta, and black ink. Now, do I have to fill all the tanks right away, or can I just pop in the black since I only plan on printing in grayscale for now? I figured I could just dump those "color" ones in later when I actually need them 🙂 But the manual says don't let the ink drop below the line, and if I wait... well, then it's definitely below the line 😁 John Doe 🙂
