Is this even legal?

Can someone please explain to me how celebrating the start of the biggest Nazi war operation ever on a thread about VE Day isn't against the rules?

First off, none of this is even OT

Second, it’s clearly just pure provocation—you know, straight-up trolling.

And thirdly, isn't that technically hate speech? I mean, they're actually celebrating it. Are we seriously just letting that slide here?

The mods have combed through this thread multiple times, but apparently, celebrating Nazi battles as something positive is totally fine, despite it being against US law and the rules of this forum.

I wonder if we should start publicly celebrating things like the Boston Massacre too—would that slide by just like this? Would there be no off-topic warnings or even just getting the posts deleted?

I mean, what did you honestly expect? Did you think this place would stay pure? This forum didn't just spontaneously turn into a dumping ground for every random far-right troll on the internet overnight.
Look at the leadership here. We’ve got one moderator—a self-proclaimed patriot living overseas—who once had the nerve to lecture Americans back home about our supposed lack of "patriotism." Then there's another who refuses to let anyone even mention certain "American sacred cows," while a third spends his entire day hunting for "Anglo-Yugoslav" conspiracies, ready to ban anyone he deems a theorist. It's a total circus. 🤣

Dozens of posts deleted, several threads split, a few bans handed out... and if one single post gets missed (which has since been fixed), suddenly everyone is screaming about the CPUSA.

Believe it or not, the moderators actually have lives outside this place. They can't be online 24/7, and frankly, I don't have the energy or the desire to explain that to anyone.

That’s just not true, and you know it. The mods were online and didn't touch anything (at least regarding what I'm talking about—they definitely nuked other stuff). If they were actually offline, I wouldn't even say a word. It's not like I expect things to be fixed instantly or need a reaction in five minutes; I get that people have real lives. But you can easily check the timestamps on when the bans happened versus when those "problematic" posts were deleted.

Not to mention, you were right there participating in the thread at 9:05 PM as a regular user,

which proves you guys (and we both know which mod was with you) were online, actively moderating that thread, scrolling through it, and letting those posts stay.

The bans went down, sure, but not for the specific posts I'm quoting. Someone got banned for a post sitting right underneath the one I'm talking about. That means the mod was right there, left that post alone, and hung out for two hours after you guys banned the Zagorski crusader.

I wouldn't say nobody was online, because clearly, you two were right there in the thread. That's exactly why I decided to start this topic here.

Everything is easy to verify if you just look at the timestamps of the bans and deletions.

And no, this isn't a crusade against the mods. I'm not complaining about how you handle politics; honestly, you guys do a killer job.

But this situation just spiraled a bit out of control (in my eyes), so I'm stepping in.

You think I'm just talking trash? Fine, throw $500 at me and make me shut up. That's how admins think, right? Same thing.

But the reason I started this thread hasn't changed. Maybe the posts technically broke the rules, and I can live with that answer—it's a private forum with private rules.

But the "they were offline" excuse doesn't fly. It's just not true, and saying they didn't see the thread or the posts just doesn't hold water.
