Got slapped with an eight-day ban for "hate speech." Now I’m scrolling through everything trying to find the actual post that triggered it, but it’s gone. Long story short, I’ll explain what happened and why this whole mess went down the way it did...
On the "World" PDF, I commented on the German government's policy toward Libya, calling it "cowardly and overly cautious." I remember it vividly because I got banned by Sam Green73 less than a minute later.

Since when does labeling a political policy "cowardly and cautious" qualify as hate speech?!
And where the hell is the post?

Maybe Sam Green73 knows the answer if he decides to show up, because I honestly don't get it. Look, if he just apologizes and admits he messed up, we're good—no hard feelings. He just needs to address this publicly so we can clear up this confusing mess. An eight-day ban for absolutely nothing? Seriously?

Just a quick heads-up, it's spelled M-O-L-I-M.
You can check out those cards on your profile.

Honestly, what's with the comparison to Rommel's Afrika Korps when you're talking about the current German government?
That was a completely different era of Germany sending Rommel down there.

p.s. I rarely hop online over the weekend, so if you drop a question on Friday night, don't expect an answer until Tuesday.

Thanks for reaching out..

It goes without saying that my point was taken out of context. If Germany carries the weight of its past, fine. But I was trying to make it clear that history has nothing to do with this specific situation. We need to shake off this excessive, suffocating caution that just ends up drowning out the German voice—which, let's face it, is a massive factor when it comes to the EU budget.

I'll be brief. I get it, maybe the comparison was a bit much, but calling it hate speech? That’s a stretch. It really isn't. Look, you messed up, it happens, but an 8-day ban is overkill. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, the post was deleted anyway..

You’ve honestly left me speechless here, which really shouldn't surprise me given that you clearly skimmed right over what I wrote in my last post.

Just to address that little implied question you tucked at the end: you're mistaken.

Rommel was actually part of the plot against Hitler, and those conspirators basically provided the modern German government with their perfect alibi. So, there's nothing wrong with bringing up E. Rommel, even when discussing his operations over in Libya..
Alright, I get where you're coming from. In my book, your decision is pretty reckless, but I'll respect it for the sake of being objective.
I'm done with this appeal.
