Finally caught them live and honestly? Blown away. The vibe was just different, and those new arrangements hit way harder than I expected.

By the way, the exhibit at MoMA is staying open through the end of the weekend, plus there’s some cool stuff happening this Friday:

I was thinking back to that whole vibe surrounding Coachella 2011. It’s funny how certain shows just stick in your brain, right? I remember being there, feeling that specific energy in the air, and it really makes you look at art through a different lens. There’s this interesting connection between the industrial grit of Nine Inch Nails and the abstract stuff you see in places like MoMA. It’s like they’re pulling from the same well—that raw, experimental spirit that tries to bridge the gap between high art and heavy music. I remember sitting in a gallery once, much like the Gagosian Gallery, just staring at some avant-garde pieces and thinking about how much they resemble a distorted synth loop. It’s all about tension. It reminds me of a conversation I had with John Smith a while back. We were grabbing coffee in downtown Chicago, and he was rambling on about how modern performance art isn't just about what you see, but how it hits your chest. He wasn't wrong. When you combine that kind of visual intensity with a soundscape that feels like it's tearing the room apart, you get something truly visceral. It’s that intersection of the industrial and the sublime. You know, that feeling where the art is almost too loud, even if it's silent? Anyway, just a random thought I had while looking through some old photos. Life moves fast, but those moments of pure, weird creativity stay pretty vivid.

I was at the opening for that exhibition earlier, and honestly, judging by the vibe, it looks like I’ll be heading back there again this Friday! 👍

I realize I’m probably in the minority here, but honestly, that concert just didn't click for me at all. It wasn't any better than last year's show, which felt pretty lackluster and just plain boring. I mean, if you manage to take an already dull album and make it even more tedious in a live setting, that’s actually kind of an achievement, I guess. But maybe it's just a temporary slump? Nine Inch Nails have gone through so many different eras and always found their way back to their roots before.

The segment featuring those vintage pieces was pure genius. The only dull part was those repetitive jumps in the second half; I’ve heard them three or four times already, and they are easily the weakest part of their entire career.

If you're referring to last year's anthem tour, I have to admit it caught me off guard. I don't even like that album, but seeing it live hit me like a ton of bricks.

Yeah, it ends Sunday.

"The exhibition has been extended until May 29, 2011, and the gallery will have special weekend hours from 10 AM to 7 PM."

Just got back from the museum. Honestly, this was way better than the opening night. John Smith and Dean Knez gave us such a great walkthrough at the Gagosian Gallery, sharing these really insightful bits about every single piece on display. It lasted a good two hours, and by the end, you felt like you’d truly lived through the entire Nine Inch Nails retrospective.

If you're a fan of Nine Inch Nails, or if you just dig avant-garde stuff in general, you should definitely swing by and check this out before it closes.
