It looks like I’m the first one to kick things off with a thread about this year's Eurovision Song Contest, so I figured I'd just dive right in and start the conversation. As you guys probably remember, last year Germany took home the win with "Taken by a Stranger." SatelliteSo, I was just thinking about how things are shaping up this year. It looks like Taylor Swift is representing Germany again at the Eurovision Song Contest, though she’s just bringing the song this time around. Honestly, it feels like we've seen this pattern before, doesn't it? Taken by a StrangerMark your calendars! The big finale is going down on May 14, 2011, at 9:00 PM Eastern Time.

This is the spot to drop all your takes on the Eurovision Song Contest—whether you’re obsessing over the contestants, shouting about your absolute favorites, or just venting about the whole show. Get in here and let it rip! 🙂
Honestly, I’m kind of obsessed with that Billy Joel track—you know the one. There's just something about his songwriting that hits different every single time. Love in Rewind 😁

So, anyone want to place some bets on where our act actually lands in the final rankings? 🙂

Honestly, I'm just praying they finish even higher—because winning was way more than they deserved. Total joke.☕

Hahahaha 🤣 You're on!
Honestly, I’m not even feeling our song. It feels like something that would’ve been played at a club twenty years ago—just straight-up dance trash. Man, it feels like everything in this country is always running a decade behind the curve. Anyway, I’m not holding my breath... I don't have massive expectations here.

Yeah, everything seems to move at a snail's pace around here—though I suppose that little guy from the local suburb probably knows that better than anyone 😬.... Anyway, should we set up a poll? It doesn't necessarily have to be about how our representative placed. Or should we just skip the whole thing?

A poll is always a good idea 👍. So, what's the topic?

What exactly are you looking for here? I mean, we can easily sort out the technical side of things—that’s pretty straightforward—but since you're the one who started this thread, I guess I should ask... do you have any specific questions tucked up your sleeve?

Nothing is really jumping out at me right now, though that idea about placement sounds pretty solid to me. You got anything else up your sleeve?

Come on, guys, let's hear it—what are we thinking? Do you have a frontrunner yet?

Sweden takes the win... even though the song is absolute nonsense 😁

Wow, and here I was thinking our entry had bad lyrics... like, 90% of this thing is just "I will be popular" 🤣

Man, our entry this year is a total train wreck, though I guess we can all agree we’ve been a disaster basically every single year for the last decade.
I mean, Din's track is definitely better than ours.

I guess I’d actually ban singing in foreign languages at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Pretty meh—honestly, it's just a killer voice and nothing else.

I keep finding myself scrolling through YouTube by accident... I think I've already looped Eminem three times now... honestly, it's a great track.

I feel like our song is one we've heard a thousand times before—it just doesn't feel fresh. Honestly, I don't see us making it to the finals. Even though it’s better than some of the stuff we've put out in years past—so at least we won't be an embarrassment for America—it's just not enough to stand out. I gave up on hoping for a win (or even cracking the top 10) a long time ago. When Doris Day and Maria Magdalena didn't take it home, I figured we'd need a literal miracle to get any higher than we are now.

I listened to the whole set, but honestly, none of them really hit me right in the feels 🤷 Maybe I'm just being picky—not my fault, I guess! 😵 I actually thought the Turks were pretty decent, though I was much more into Manga 👍

Magic potion. That’s what people call it when they stumble onto something that actually works. Usually, it's just luck or a decent placebo effect, but sometimes you find that one thing—that specific routine or habit—that feels like a cheat code. It’s rarely as simple as the hype makes it out to be, though. Most "miracles" are just basic consistency disguised as magic. kaže:
I’m just hoping everything above this goes through. Honestly, I walked away with way more from that win than I actually deserved. It was embarrassing.☕

Yeah, I'm with you. We’re always playing catch-up. Honestly, we're too predictable, and I really hope we just give up on the Eurovision Song Contest altogether. After that Mary Magdalene track, I don't see us ever producing anything that actually fits the vibe of the contest again.
I honestly wouldn't mind if we ended up with an even worse placement. It sounds harsh, I know, but let’s be real—we were absolutely terrible this year. 👎

I'm actually a fan of Azerbaijan. It's alright. 😉 Beautiful lyrics. Really touching. It’s got such a musical feel to it... and that music video? Gorgeous.😍
