How do I DM a banned user?

How the hell am I supposed to send a DM to someone who's banned and actually expect them to see it while they're locked out?

Just a heads-up for everyone: while users are under a ban, they won't be able to send or receive any private messages.

Honestly, this is just straight-up gay. You were either being rude or whatever, which is why you got a Ban, but what does the PP have to do with anything?

It’s perfectly logical if you actually think about it for more than two seconds. A ban basically means you can't touch the forum until the timer runs out. And since using private messages is technically part of using the site, why shouldn't they be included in that restriction? I don't see the issue.

Plus, let's be real—some people get banned specifically because of their PM activity anyway, whether it's harassment, insults, or just straight-up spamming. It would make way more sense to strip them of their posting privileges while still letting them send or receive messages if they really need to. 🤦

The thing is, getting banned over some stupid post that didn't even cause any real damage totally kills the vibe. You can't even browse Craigslist or hit up local marketplaces anymore. Plus, it’s such a pain when you’ve got deals in progress through DMs, then suddenly you're hit with a ban and all those arrangements just go dead in the water. It’s not like it’s the end of the world, but honestly, it feels pretty lame to lose access to messaging just because of some minor infractions. I'm sure there's plenty of other ways this kind of stuff messes things up too.

Look, if people are using PMs to insult, spam, or send threats, we need to just kill the private messaging feature entirely. It’s not even up for debate. Period.

I’ve been banned a couple of times for basically nothing—just some dumb stuff like an oversized image or whatever. I really needed my PM, so this whole thing is just straight-up lame.

So now someone’s supposed to keep an eye on you because you clearly can't manage it yourself, right?

Self-control is non-negotiable if you actually want to get anywhere in life, because if you can’t manage yourself, you’re basically a passenger in your own life.
It’s an entirely different story if you’re making a conscious choice to let loose and ride the chaos, but if you go down that road, you lose all rights to complain when things inevitably blow up in your face and you end up broke.
