Wait, there is absolutely no way this is actually happening in America?! Even though most of these DJs aren't really my scene, it’s honestly refreshing to see a lineup that isn't packed with those typical Mafia types, Guetta, or any of those other "tribal" DJs who just play the same old stuff...

Damn. Who puts this together? I’ve honestly never heard of it before...

edit: Oh, I see now—it's an American thing. I guess they just really fell in love with our coast. And hey, at least the price is under $150...

Man, Annie Mac... it feels like the Americans are totally taking over the coastlines—they're going to pull off festivals so massive they'll leave us completely floored... if we aren't already...

Just so we're clear, my taste leans heavily toward Dubstep, DnB, and that whole scene.
Here's a quick rundown on some of the artists hitting the stage this year.
To start:
Chase & Status are legendary Dubstep and DnB producers. They make incredible music—highly recommend catching them. Pure British talent.
Nero is an outstanding British DnB producer. Check out tracks like Nero - Electron or Enter Shikari - Juggernauts (Nero remix).
Pendulum—if you haven't heard of them, I honestly don't know what to tell you. They basically reinvented the genre; people say they practically created a new sound. They're DnB producers who have toured the States multiple times. Definitely give them a listen. And yes, they're British.
Sub Focus is a British DnB artist. Great music, simple as that.
Caspa is one of the most iconic Dubstep producers out there. He's worked with Russian artists, Benga, and plenty of other heavyweights in the Dubstep world. Everything about him is top-tier. Another Brit.
Joker is an exceptional Dubstep producer. Like the rest of this list, he's British. His stuff is great.

That’s about all I know. As you’ve probably gathered by now, the Brits pretty much run the DnB and Dubstep game. If you want to dive deeper, just check out the UKF Drum and Bass and UKF Dubstep channels on YouTube.

If you're looking specifically for a Dubstep-DnB festival, look no further than Outlook Festival in the States. It’s the biggest event of its kind outside of England, featuring global stars from the Dubstep and DnB scenes. Hit me up if you want more details.

Outlook Festival is happening from September 1st to the 4th in Pula.

There are certainly some impressive names on this list, which we all know is a huge draw for the crowd, and those stages are massive enough to host any world-class act. However, looking at the bottom line, there is simply no way I'm dropping that kind of cash for a massive festival ticket. While the lineup is solid and I'm sure things will get absolutely chaotic once the crowds hit, I think I'll pass and find something else to do instead...

Man, why does it feel like all the heavy hitters like Mount Kimbie, Ramadanman, Sven Vath, Breakage, and guys like them only ever show up to these massive festivals where the ticket price is absolutely brutal... and then it’s at a spot like Coachella 2011 too!

It's just that you have these mediocre DJs playing sets and random live acts at clubs and venues all year round, and then summer hits and suddenly there's this one festival with such an insane lineup that you can't even process it all, followed by another big one, and then you're just left in a total drought until next summer... I really wish they could, I don't know, maybe bring Kimbie in for a live set somewhere more local, or have a smaller festival with a few cool names at a reasonable price or something...

Honestly, between Outlook Festival and all this other stuff... it's just frustrating...

Haha... I remember catching Sven Vath back in 2002 in Miami. Good times, I guess. $6.75 He was playing in this tiny little club, like, practically half a meter away from us. Honestly, I don't think we'll ever see anything like that again. Now? Every single trip to the bathroom at Ibiza is going to cost a fortune. Thanks, but yeah... I think I'll pass this time. 😁
Especially since there’s going to be a ton of much better electronic festivals popping up across the US this summer—in way nicer spots, at least if you ask me. 🙂

It’s the same pattern every single year. You have mediocre DJs and uninspired live sets playing at venues like Medica all winter long, then summer rolls around and suddenly there's a festival lineup so stacked you can't even catch every set, followed by another similar festival, and then—nothing. Just a total drought until next summer. Is it really too much to ask for someone to book Kimbie for a live set somewhere, or perhaps a smaller festival with a handful of interesting acts at a reasonable price?

Well, if you were actually at Untold at Aquarius back in late 2009, then I don't even need to explain myself...
If you weren't, let me just tell you: there were maybe forty people there, including the staff... and out of those, only about twenty had actually paid for entry. The rest were either organizers or people on the guest list...

So, there you have it. Unfortunately, if we want to see the heavy hitters, we're stuck relying on British festival promoters catering to British guests with British prices...

Ibiza is trash, I'm out.

I was just wondering if anyone actually knows what time Pendulum is playing, like if there's any solid info out there yet. Also, does anyone know where I can grab tickets or whatever?

Just a heads-up regarding Pendulum: it’s gonna be a DJ set, so don't expect the full band experience—it's just one of them behind the decks, just so nobody's disappointed 🙂 And honestly, there's a massive difference between that and a proper live set.

The lineup looks absolutely incredible, but honestly, the Coachella damage 🤮

It’s such a shame; if this were being held at a different venue, I’d definitely be opening up my wallet, but under these circumstances, there’s just no way I can justify it.
