Yeah, could be an interesting watch. It’s actually got a solid rating—like a 7.9 on IMDb—and I’ve even got it on my hard drive, but honestly, while I was fixing up some subtitles, I noticed it’s all handheld camera work... kind of lost the vibe for it. I’m pretty burnt out on those types of movies—you know? Maybe one day though...

That’s exactly my point! They went with that whole *Blair Witch Project* mockumentary angle, trying to pass it off as if it were actually true, which I think was a massive stretch on their part. I mean, sure, go ahead and lean into those old urban legends about trolls, but claiming it's real? That's pushing it too far. Regardless of that gimmick, though, I didn't find the movie boring at all—it's actually a pretty solid piece of filmmaking.

Honestly, what an absolute joke of a mockumentary. It’s all just flashy special effects masking a total lack of substance, which feels like a complete waste of my time and a massive insult to my projector

I wasn't really feeling this movie. To be fair, the beginning actually works—it’s got that mysterious, genuinely creepy vibe—but once we get our first look at the creature, the whole thing just devolves into a comedy. And don't even get me started on that monster at the end🙄 I mean, seriously, you could see that thing from outer space. And the best part? This hundred-meter tall beast attacks them right in the middle of some frozen wasteland, yet there’s a major highway right behind the bushes and absolutely nobody on the road notices a giant hunk of meat stomping around. Please.☕

I did enjoy that one scene where the Pole brings in a bear and mentions it's from the Midwest.🙏

So, I finally sat down and watched it last night.

Honestly? It was a total mixed bag—there were bits that actually grabbed my attention, but then it just dragged on and became super boring. It’s definitely one of those movies you put on when you just need to kill some time, maybe watch it once or twice more if you're really bored, but that's about it.

Honestly, this movie was fantastic. Even though it gives off those *Cloverfield* vibes, it totally carves out its own lane and stays away from that specific genre trope. That little dash of humor is really what makes it special for me. It tries so hard to feel grounded and realistic—like it’s aiming for high drama—and then just pulls the rug out from under you with this subtle, tongue-in-cheek energy (the cave trolls honestly look like they stepped right out of a cartoon), which is just so refreshing. But the humor isn't loud or obnoxious; it’s subtle enough that it doesn't mess with the overall mood. Great atmosphere, incredible acting (the guy playing the hunter is so natural, it’s almost like he isn't even acting), and the effects are top-notch. If you get the chance, seriously, go catch this in a theater while it's still running.

By the way, I just realized that people in Scandinavia say good the exact same way we do.

You know that feeling when you're just scrolling through channels out of pure boredom, sipping your morning coffee, and you settle on something feeling totally skeptical about the whole premise and this American found footage flick...

... and then, before you even realize what's happening, you find yourself completely glued to the screen, unable to look away... 👍
