Hey everyone,

I’ve got a question—maybe several, actually. My husband and I have been married for four years now.
In all that time, I could never get him to agree to hair removal. He finally caved this summer and went to a salon to get waxed. He had quite a bit of hair, mostly on his chest and back.
I thought, "Great, at least he'll be smooth for a month or so."

Then, unbelievable things started happening. Just three days later, the hair started coming back. Within ten days, he had stubble about half a centimeter long. A month later, it was right back to how it was before—honestly, it felt even thicker and denser than before. It's insane. He’s healthy, plays soccer, works hard, everything seems normal.
Is there any fix for this? Any way to stop it?
He doesn't even like being hairy anymore; he feels better and more comfortable without it.

PS: He just got waxed again a week ago, and half the hair is already half a centimeter long while the other half hasn't even surfaced yet.

It's driving me crazy, help me out.

He certainly isn’t the first—nor will he be the last—to deal with this much hair; at the end of the day, he is a man, after all.

How can anyone truly know if there isn't an underlying health issue at play here? I suppose he ought to get his hormone levels checked and perhaps have a serious consultation with a physician to determine whether this level of hair growth is actually within the normal range.

What could an increase in body hair actually be a sign of?

Man, don't sweat him over it 🤦
Just take him as he is.
It's just genetics—he's gonna be hairy, deal with it. 😕

Increased hair growth certainly has its underlying causes and requires proper diagnosis; however, in this particular instance, we aren't actually dealing with hirsutism 😁

Let's say I'm a 20-year-old guy and I have quite a bit of hair growth on my stomach, chest, and back. Am I totally normal 😁?

It’s just in our DNA. The absolute worst part is when you shave clean, only to have two hairs sprout up in the exact same spot right away.

The absolute worst part is walking in with the expectation that a guy’s skin is going to stay perfectly smooth for, say, two weeks.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever met a woman who can actually maintain that kind of smoothness for even fourteen days after hair removal.
For some people, things start popping up after just a couple of days—which, let’s be real, is even more likely to happen with guys.

At some point, you just have to accept things as they are. I have a colleague over at a local landscaping firm who basically grows a forest on his chest; he’s shaving down to his sternum every single morning because his entire neck is covered, so what?
If someone finds that bothersome or thinks it isn't "standard," well, they are always free to go browse some dating apps.

Thanks, I haven't checked this thread in over six months. I actually tried nagging him to shave the other day—you wouldn't believe it, but the hair grows in right before your eyes. It’s wild.
And look, it’s not even my issue. It doesn't bother me; I've just gotten used to it. But he’s clearly uncomfortable with it. He wants it gone. Honestly, his back looks like an eighty-year-old man's, but on the bright side, his backside is like a dense forest.
I wanted to help out here, but it seems like there's no solution. I'm honestly at a loss for what we can even do.
Anyway, thanks.

PS What do you guys think about laser hair removal? I know nothing is permanent, but do you think it would actually make a difference?

Mine start popping up four days after waxing.😱
So yeah, I stopped using wax altogether. Just a waste of time.

I’ve got hair on my chest. There's some on the back of my neck just below the hairline too, though nothing crazy—just something a barber handles during a trim. My back is a bit hairy as well, but nothing extreme. Honestly, I love my "tapestry." It’s pretty damn sexy. There’s that old saying:"A man without a belly is like a Ford without a badge." (Though I can't say I agree with that one—I don't have a belly😁) I’d probably add:"A man without hair is like a Ford without a badge...". Now, I definitely vibe with that last one, considering the tapestry I'm rocking up front...😁☕
