I would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for granting me just a few extra minutes of your attention.
First—regarding that "controversial" snippet that sparked such a massive debate over my post on the Chicago Cubs forum—it was merely a tiny fraction of the entire thing, so I truly cannot fathom why the whole post was purged. Did you honestly interpret the entirety of my writing as hate speech, or was this simply a reaction from those who seem to wish they could see me burned at the stake? *Off with her head!* Truly, what is the harm in a bit of classic cartoonishness, if you insist on labeling it hate speech (even though, naturally, I see none of it here)?
Second: let me be quite clear—this was neither foreign propaganda nor did I have any intention of speaking against anyone based on their nationality. That specific part of my post served solely as an illustration of how collective hatred and condemnation are manufactured. Perhaps it was a poor choice of illustration—and I did admit afterward that I am not above being mistaken—but there was genuinely no reason to delete the entire message. I had no desire to incite further off-topic, politically charged bickering, nor did I attempt to engage in it. The heart of my post wasn't about some ethnic conflict; I simply chose one of those current, widely known issues as a passing example. Does that bother you? If so, then please just delete that, specifically that portion. By the way, I was actually one of the rare voices pointing out the very core of the subject, yet even that was scrubbed away despite having nothing to do with the minor controversial segment. So much for democracy, I suppose.
Third: if we are going to discuss hate speech, perhaps you should consider deleting that baseless, paranoid headline used by the thread starter. I am not spreading propaganda, whereas that particular forum member has repeatedly emphasized on this site how her blood boils at the mere mention of a certain group—and clearly, she couldn't resist doing it again this time. Furthermore, I find this fragmentation of my post to be absolutely unacceptable, especially since the original version can no longer be found. Does its very existence on the forum bother you (as you claimed), or does it not? I suggest you make a decision: either delete it entirely or stop playing this game of "yes there, but no here." 🤣
It is a good thing no one asked me to produce my birth certificate; I imagine some people would be terribly disappointed to discover I am not from that side of the pond. 🤦
