What's the real difference between psychology and a psychiatric couch?

I noticed my thread was moved from 'Psychology' over to its sub-forum, the 'Psychiatric couch'... I was wondering why that happened? What is the actual distinction between those two sections, and how can I tell which topics belong in 'Psychology' versus the 'Psychiatric couch'?

You've started a thread that seems pretty personal—you're essentially describing your own situation—and I guess those kinds of topics usually belong over on the Psychiatric couch.
