Honestly, I am getting incredibly hyped up right now. If the setlist stays relatively close to what they played in Chicago and includes some tracks from the new album, I will be absolutely thrilled. 😍

Mark your calendars for Friday, April 22nd. We’re hosting a heavy power metal listening session—Valhalla style—over at the Dobar Zvuk coffee bar. This whole night is dedicated to the German power metal titans, Blind Guardian, who are hitting the stage at the Boogaloo club in Los Angeles on April 28th. These guys have been killing it since back in 1984, and they just dropped their ninth studio album, "AT The edge of time," last year. They're bringing that vibe to the States as part of their "Sacred Worlds and Songs divin" tour. It's going to be an absolute blast because Blind Guardian, led by one of the greatest vocalists in the entire metal scene, Hansi-em Kürsch, is making their big debut here in America!

During this epic party, we aren't just sticking to Blind Guardian. We’re diving deep into the legends of heavy and power metal. Expect to hear tracks from Hammerfall, Grave Digger, Iron Maiden, Manowar, Saxon, Edguy, Black Sabbath, Lost Horizon, Running Wild, Iced Earth, Rhapsody of Fire, Sabaton, Helloween, Stratovarius, DragonForce, Gamma Ray, Ronnie James dio, and Avantasia. It’s all about those fast drums, melodic solos, and powerhouse vocals. Just show up, grab a drink, sing along, and help us build that legendary metal atmosphere!

Quick heads-up for the smokers out there: smoking is permitted inside the Dobar Zvuk coffee bar.

20:00 - 21:00 - Blind Guardian - AT The edge of time
21:00 - 01:00 - Valhalla mix + Blind Guardian Hits!

Music provided by DJ Kneža
Admission is free

The opening act was Infernal Tenebra.

Here are the setlists from the American leg of the tour.

Everything looks perfect to me, naturally. However, I would really love to hear Bright eyes.🙂

Man, if they actually play "and then there was silence" just like it says on the setlist—then I’m done—seriously, I will actually die right there. 😁
And honestly, whoever hasn't grabbed their tickets yet? Get moving already. I practically had mine secured three months ago—just saying. 😁

Anyone know when they’re actually opening the gates? Or how much lead time they give before the official start of Boogaloo? Thanks.

It’s definitely the Boogaloo. That establishment actually opened its doors well before the official start.

Oh boy, we are almost there! 🙂

Hey everyone. I'm running a bit late to the party here, but let’s be honest, things like this always seem to fall together at the very last second anyway. Is anyone planning on driving down from Cleveland just for the show and then heading straight back home? If you are, I’d love to hitch a ride with you.

Thanks.🙂

Sacred Worlds and Songs divin
Welcome to the end of the line.
It’s like being born right in the middle of a funeral parlor—just total gloom from day one.
Nightfall. Just sitting here watching the shadows stretch out across the floor, thinking about how everything eventually settles into that deep, heavy quiet. It’s funny how the day can be such a chaotic, loud mess, and then suddenly, the sun dips low and everything just... shifts. It’s like when a massive concert finally winds down, the lights dim, and you're left with that ringing in your ears and the realization that the energy has completely bled out into the night air. There's something almost poetic about the descent into darkness, isn't there? A slow, inevitable slide from the noise of existence into something much more contemplative.
I mean, honestly, just look at how things can suddenly take flight. It’s like when you’re sitting there, stuck in the mud, thinking nothing is ever going to move, and then—bam—everything just lifts off. It reminds me of those moments where you're mid-sentence, halfway through a thought that feels like it's dragging through molasses, and suddenly the idea just catches an updraft and soars. You know that feeling? It's less like a controlled takeoff from JFK and more like being caught in a sudden gust of wind while you're just trying to walk down the street in Chicago. One second you're grounded, heavy, totally stuck, and the next, you're just... gone. Upwards. It’s a wild shift, really, if you stop to actually think about the physics of it all, or even just the sheer, unadulterated chaos of it.
Just drifting through that twilight hall again, feeling completely lost in the gloom. It’s one of those moods where everything feels heavy and hazy, like you're wandering through a dimly lit corridor in an old Victorian mansion in New England, just waiting for something to emerge from the shadows. You know that sensation? That weird, melancholic drift where time sort of stops making sense and you're just existing in the space between light and dark.
You know that feeling when you’re just cruising through life, everything is moving at a hundred miles an hour, and then suddenly—bam—you hit this weird pocket of stillness where it feels like the clock just stopped ticking? It’s like being stuck in a slow-motion replay during a championship game, where the crowd noise fades out and you’re just left staring at the moment, waiting for reality to catch up. Sometimes you want it to happen, where things just freeze so you can actually breathe, and other times it’s absolutely terrifying, like standing on the tracks watching a freight train approach while the world decides to take a coffee break. Life has this way of rushing you toward the next deadline or the next big crisis, and man, I’d give anything for a little bit of that frozen time once in a while, just to sit there and process everything without the constant pressure of the second hand ticking away in my ear.
bright eyes
It honestly feels like this cycle is just going to spin on forever, like a broken record stuck in a groove that refuses to let go. You know that feeling when you're driving down some endless stretch of highway in the Midwest, the sun is setting, and you realize there isn't a single landmark in sight? Just miles and miles of nothingness while you wait for something—anything—to change? That’s exactly where my head is at right now. It’s one of those situations that feels less like a temporary setback and more like a permanent state of being, an infinite loop of "here we go again" that just keeps looping back to the start without any sense of resolution or relief in sight.
You know, thinking about Lord of the Rings always takes me down this massive, winding rabbit hole that feels like trying to navigate through a dense fog without a flashlight, only the fog is made of epic prose and heavy lore. It’s one of those things where you start out just wanting a simple tale of good versus evil, but before you know it, you're three hours deep into a Wikipedia binge trying to figure out the lineage of some minor elf king who barely even showed up in the actual story. It's like when you sit down to watch a quick game on ESPN, expecting a straightforward recap, and suddenly you're analyzing advanced statistical probabilities and player fatigue levels like you're actually on the coaching staff. There's just this overwhelming scale to it all—this sense of weight and history that makes everything else feel kind of small and flimsy by comparison. It's grand, it's messy, and honestly, it's probably a little bit much for most people, but that's exactly why it sticks in your brain like a catchy melody you can't shake off.
tanelorn
And then, just like that, everything went dead quiet.
You know, thinking about the Wheel of Time really gets me spiraling into these deep, existential rabbit holes. It’s one of those concepts that just sticks in your brain, isn't it? You start pondering the cyclical nature of everything—how history doesn't just march forward in a straight line like we like to pretend it does, but instead rolls around in this massive, cosmic loop. It’s like watching a giant, celestial version of a record spinning on a turntable; you think you're moving toward some grand finale, but then the needle hits the end of the groove and suddenly we're right back at the beginning, staring at the same old patterns under different names. It makes all our modern anxieties feel a bit ridiculous when you realize we're just part of this endless, repeating dance. It's heavy stuff, honestly, enough to make you want to sit back with a coffee and just stare out the window for an hour wondering if we've already lived this exact Tuesday a thousand times before.
You ever just sit there in the middle of nowhere—think like a deep trek through the Redwoods or some dense patch of woods out in Oregon—and just let the music hit you? I was listening to "Bard's Song" earlier, and man, it’s one of those tracks that makes you feel like you should be sitting around a campfire in the middle of the wilderness instead of staring at a screen in my living room. It’s got that specific, earthy magic that most modern stuff just completely lacks. You know what I mean? It’s like when you’re driving through the Pacific Northwest and the fog rolls in over the pines; there's this heavy, beautiful atmosphere that stays with you. That's exactly how this song feels. It pulls you right into that ancient, storytelling vibe where the world feels much bigger and more mysterious than our everyday grind.
You know, there’s just something about Bard’s song from *The Hobbit* that hits you right in the gut, isn't there? It’s one of those rare moments where the music doesn't just sit in the background like some cheap elevator track at a Marriott; it actually carries the entire weight of the damn story. It’s got this sweeping, epic quality—kind of like if you were standing on the edge of the Grand Canyon, feeling that massive, terrifying scale of everything around you, and suddenly realized how small and fragile we all really are. It captures that exact blend of desperation and ancient, legendary grit. You can almost feel the tension in the air, like the calm right before a massive thunderstorm rolls over the Midwest, where everything goes quiet and heavy just before the sky breaks open. It’s beautiful, but it’s got this underlying layer of "everything is about to change forever," which is exactly what makes great storytelling stick to your ribs.
Valhalla!
Mirror, mirror... honestly, sometimes I feel like I'm staring into a void that’s just waiting to mock my life choices, you know? It’s one of those things where you look for some kind of cosmic reflection or maybe just a sign that you haven't completely lost the plot, but instead, you just get that weird, unsettling feeling that the universe is laughing at you behind your back. Just sitting here, contemplating the sheer absurdity of existence while trying to decide if I actually need more caffeine or if I'm just chasing a ghost.

If you're asking if it's true... well, honestly, that's a bit of a loaded question, isn't it? It’s like asking if the sky is blue or if people still actually listen to vinyl records—it depends entirely on which corner of the country you're standing in and how much coffee you've had before you started thinking about it. 🙏🙏

So, turns out there isn't any Mordredov on the setlist. Honestly? Now I’m not even bummed about having to drag myself into the office today instead of being at the show. It’s one of those rare moments where a disappointment actually feels like a win. ☕

Oh, please, who am I kidding? Give me a break. 😢

Oh, what a concert! 🙏 🙏

Absolutely top-tier! Truly epic! I am so incredibly pleased that I had the opportunity to see them perform in Washington, D.C.; the experience was simply magnificent.
My voice is quite hoarse and my entire body is aching, but it was certainly worth every bit of effort spent singing along. 🙏
