My PC is mostly for gaming. I’ve been scrolling through some old threads and tried to put together a build based on some of the setups you guys recommend. Basically, could you take a look and tell me if this actually makes sense?
Intel Core i5-6402P$471
MSI MB B150M PRO-VDH, S.1151, iB150, DDR4/2133, PCIe, D-Sub/DVI/HDMI, S-ATA3, G-LAN, 8ch., mATX $187
Fortron Raider S PSU 550W, 80+ SILVER $168
Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 480 NITRO+ GDDR5 8GB/256bit, 1342MHz/2000MHz, PCI-E 3.0 x16, HDMI, 2xDVI, 2xDP, Dual-X Cooler RGB(Double Slot), lite Retail 2,428.00 USD
$809
or
Inno3D Nvidia GTX 1060 iChill X3 6GB GDDR5 192-bit $851
I already have all the other parts!
I've pretty much used AMD's cards my whole life, and honestly, they always seem to mess with me regarding drivers—you know, that annoying "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error. So now I'm torn... which one do you think is better, the 480 or the 1060?
And one more thing, since there might be cheaper versions of these cards, maybe I could squeeze in a hard drive too. My current one is just 500GB, and while I'm managing, I really need more space. I was thinking, if I go with a cheaper card option, I might grab an SSD until I can afford a bigger HDD, because I eventually want both. It seems easier to just plug in the HDD later.
At the end of the day, I guess the most important thing is getting the best GPU possible, and I'll figure out the storage situation somehow.
