Hi there.
I wasn't quite sure where the best place to bring this up would be, so I’m hoping you all might be able to offer some understanding.
The thing is, I haven't been able to find an online discussion about this specific issue, but I've noticed it in several people. It's something I struggle with personally too, and I just can't seem to get a handle on it. I have a really hard time pronouncing certain sounds—you know, those sharp consonants and sibilants—and it makes my speech sound quite rough. It often leads to awkward situations where I feel embarrassed while trying to hold a conversation. I've tried practicing mouth movements in front of a mirror like everyone suggests, but I'm just not seeing any progress. Does anyone know if there's a way to actually correct this so my speech sounds clearer, without all that extra hissing or whistling?

I wasn't quite sure where to post this so I'm hoping you guys can bear with me.
The thing is, I haven't been able to find an online thread about this specific issue, but I've noticed it in several people and it's definitely my own struggle too, and I just can't seem to fix it. I have a really hard time pronouncing certain sounds—like S, F, Sh, or Ch—and my speech ends up sounding terrible, which constantly lands me in awkward situations or makes me feel embarrassed when I'm talking to people. I've been trying to practice my lip movements in front of a mirror like everyone else suggests, but nothing is working. Does anyone know how I can actually fix this so my speech sounds normal without all the extra hissing and whistling sounds?

just go see a speech pathologist👍

Everything depends on what the actual issue is, how deep it goes, and which specific sounds are being messed up, so it's pretty much impossible to fix this on your own without getting a proper diagnosis first. I don't know how old you are, but let me tell you right now that age doesn't matter at all. 😉
