I just sat through this absolutely terrible movie called Kick-Ass, but right as the credits rolled, this random song came on that was so good I had to go hunt down who was singing it and check out their other tracks.
The band is called The Pretty Reckless, and apparently, their lead singer isn't even 17 yet—she's also been acting in movies like /Grinch steals God/.
I can't say if she's actually any good at acting, but unless drugs or shady producers eat Taylor Momsen alive, she is going to absolutely dominate the music scene.
The track that totally blew me away is "make me Wanna die".

I saw some acoustic covers of their songs on MTV while scrolling through YouTube, and they sound just as solid. For instance, zombie.

The Pretty Reckless is a post-grunge group from New York City, led by American actress Taylor Momsen. Back on December 30, 2009, they put out a promo track called “Make Me Wanna Die,” which eventually landed on the soundtrack for the movie Kick-Ass. The First ep for their album will be released on June 22 , 2010 and The full record “ light me up ” will Come out in August.

Honestly, her vocals caught me totally off guard. It's just hard to wrap my head around it when I know what she looks like without all the makeup and how much she's changed from being just a "regular" girl. But if we're looking at the band as a whole, they aren't half bad at all.

Exactly! I think she's honestly pretty gross 😂 she looks like some kind of *😉 with all that heavy makeup🙄 I mean, she's only 16, yet she looks like she's 30🤣

But I guess she does have an amazing voice and truly great songs! So, I won't focus too much on... *other things🤣

You definitely have to listen to the new single Miss Nothing; it just hit the radio today! It's great!🙏

I mean, sure, she's trying to grow up too fast and all that, but still...
Anyway... I haven't heard the new track yet... going to go listen now...🙂

She’s got a great voice, and as far as her future goes, I suppose any number of paths could open up for her—she seems like a sensible professional and, honestly, just a well-raised girl. Man, I really want to hate it, but "make me Wanna die" is just too good 🙏

And don't even get me started on those interviews... I'm really hoping she grows out of this phase soon and stops talking such nonsense.

I actually think Make me wanna die is a solid track, and it's not like the girl can't sing or anything, but it really bugs me how she acts like wearing provocative lingerie makes you edgy—as if you're automatically some less valuable idiot who doesn't understand what real rock and good music is just because you aren't listening to Led Zeppelin or The Beatles.

Oh boy... she just hit puberty... honestly, what is wrong with kids these days? Ugh... okay, look, I'm 18 myself, lol... but since she's famous, it's even more intense... plus, it feels like it's all just for the publicity. Don't get me wrong—I'm not defending her—but you have to show some empathy. Just look around; look at how thirteen-year-olds act nowadays. I guess once she "grows up" a bit, things will settle down and she'll act more "normal."😁
But hey, whatever... they have great songs!

I am absolutely obsessed with this band, I can't stop listening...

But honestly, I don't know about her... all that edgy stuff and the outfits, especially since she’s only 17. It feels a little bit much for me...

That being said, the music itself is incredible...
