Hey everyone. I’m 23 and figured I’d post here because, honestly, it feels pretty ridiculous to walk into a doctor's office and actually say this out loud. So, here’s the deal: I keep getting this sensation, like there’s something stuck in my rectal area, and it just makes me feel like I constantly need to hit the restroom. To be clear, my bowel movements are totally normal—regular, no blood, no pain, nothing like that. It’s just this annoying, nagging feeling. It gets way more intense when I’m walking around, but seems to chill out a bit when I’m just lying down and relaxing. Does anyone have any clue what the hell this could be? Not sure if I made enough sense, so if you need more details, just ask.

P.S. Could anxiety be causing this? I struggle with a mild case of it myself.

Thanks.

It is possible you are experiencing tenesmus, or perhaps just false urges... Anxiety could certainly be a contributing factor, especially if there aren't any other symptoms present. I would suggest trying some relaxation techniques to see if things improve within a few days...

Thanks for the reply. Honestly, this has been messing with me for about a month now—some days are worse than others. It’s weird, because when I’m just sleeping, everything feels fine, but the second I start walking around, it hits me hard. I can't say for sure, but I feel like I had something similar happen once before, though that cleared up in a few days. This time? It just won't quit. 😢 It all kicked off with me having to hit the restroom maybe 3 or 4 times a day. Nothing crazy, no diarrhea or anything, just frequent. Back then, there was some stomach bug going around the office, so I didn't even think twice about it at the time.

Are you spending way too much time sitting on hard surfaces?

Yeah, honestly? It could totally be that. I’ve been spending way too much time glued to my desk lately, plus all those hours hunched over lecture hall seats at the university. Could that be what's causing it?

I don't know about you, but whenever I find myself stuck in a hard, unforgiving chair in front of my computer for five or six hours straight a few days in a row, I swear I’m about to lose my mind from the discomfort... but if I actually take the time to properly cushion my seat or if I'm lucky enough to have a high-end ergonomic office chair, then I can power through all five hours without feeling a single thing...

Worms?🤷 Or maybe just the start of hemorrhoids? Could honestly just be some irritated lining... 🤷

Sounds like hemorrhoids to me...☕..there's already a thread about that on here.
