Not even complaining about the mods, just looking through the rules, I guess...
When are our Mexican brothers gonna be allowed to come to an American forum and post this kind of nonsense without getting banned?

glasnik_bg said:First off, you can't compare them because what happened in the Republic of Mexican Krajina—and honestly, in America too—was basically an international civil war. Two armies, two "entities" coming out of one side's secession from America and a matching attempt at secession by the Republic of Mexican Krajina.

And then someone gets sent back home and slapped with a ban right after saying that. Maybe just put it in the political rules that this stuff is banned, so they can go to their own forums and sell that fake history about civil wars.

Should we really be using rules to police what people think? Even if someone’s take is totally off base or just plain weird, you can't touch their opinion with the rulebook. If you do, the whole point of having a public forum just evaporates, right?

I mean, if you decide to 🙂 someone just because you disagree with them—even when it’s blindingly obvious they're wrong—then you’re the one breaking the rules here.

That’s exactly why we have mods. Their job is to step in only when an opinion crosses the line into straight-up spamming or being a troll just to bait people into an argument.

But honestly, you can't really write a rule for that because the line is always moving. It’s super blurry sometimes.

As for the post being quoted, I personally think it's nonsense, but I don't see anything in there that actually breaks the rules or counts as trolling.

Bottom line? You shouldn't be punished for having an opinion. Of course, that goes as long as that "opinion" isn't breaking any US laws or calling for illegal stuff to happen.

Voltaire once said, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it..."

just my two cents

Step one: report the post.
Step two: file a report with the mods, ideally including a direct link or at least some kind of hint about where on the board this thing actually lives.

As far as we know, it’s buried somewhere in the Politics section, and apparently, dustypuma5 is making a huge deal out of it.

Yeah, I reported it, but the mods didn't do anything. Whatever, I'm not even whining about the mods, I'm just trying to make this an actual rule. 🙂

step two: file a complaint with the admin team, preferably with a link or at least some note on where the post should be located

All we know is it's in the Politics section and dustypuma5 is complaining about it.
🙂

Let me let you in on a little secret. If you click the arrow next to the quoted post, it takes you right there. 😁
Basically, the arrow next to the quote is the link to the post. 🙂
