Blisters on my feet?

I wanted to reach out and share a situation that’s been weighing heavily on my heart... My younger sister is 19 years old, and she’s currently dealing with a really distressing medical issue. It actually started before she hit puberty, and we thought she had moved past it entirely, but recently, it has resurfaced—specifically on her feet. It starts with these tiny, itchy little bumps, which then quickly escalate into large blisters. Those blisters itch intensely before eventually bursting, leaving behind an open wound that burns constantly. Once it heals, the new skin that forms is incredibly thin and fragile, making it painful, and before you know it, a new blister pops up in the exact same spot. It’s a relentless cycle. She has seen several doctors, but they seem completely stumped. Some have even suggested it might just be psychosomatic, claiming it's all stemming from excessive stress, which feels so dismissive given how much physical agony she is in. I would be profoundly grateful if anyone here could offer some insight or even a lead on what this might be, because she can barely walk normally due to the pain. Thank you so much 😢

So, a buddy of mine had this exact thing—little red spots that itch like crazy, blisters, stinging, hurting... basically a nightmare. He went to see a dermatologist and they put him on some Plimycol cream, if that's how you spell it, because apparently, it was some kind of fungal infection. Honestly, who knows if it's the same deal with your sister? Skin stuff is such a headache, and these conditions usually take forever to clear up. That cream worked wonders for him, though sometimes he just uses Canesten, which is also for fungus. It might be worth a shot, but hey, if it doesn't look better soon, then it's clearly not fungus. Doctors always play the guessing game with different creams anyway, since everyone reacts differently, right? My dad dealt with this too—weird skin issues on his feet—and they never even gave him a straight diagnosis! They just kept swapping out his creams constantly. He’d apply one for a few days and think he was fine, then boom, it gets worse again, so they'd give him something else, and it just goes on in circles forever. 🤷

Ugh, I just started thinking about my aunt—she gets these freaking blisters out of nowhere. On her arm, on her shin, literally anywhere else one day, then it's a different spot the next. It turns into this huge blister that just keeps growing until it pops like a balloon, leaving this nasty open wound behind. Then she has to go get it cleaned and scraped by doctors and wrapped up until it finally heals on its own. The crazy part? There’s zero diagnosis. She’s done all the tests, ruled out skin issues, checked her bloodwork... maybe an allergy? Nobody has a clue. Her labs all come back totally normal, too. I don't know where you're located, but if you're near Chicago, I heard there's this dermatologist at Northwestern who is absolutely incredible😕

That's dyshidrosis. I deal with it myself, but on my hands.

I dealt with something similar. I had these blisters on the bottom that would leak fluid—plasma, whatever you want to call it—leaving my socks completely soaked, while the top part was incredibly itchy.
It wasn't a fungal issue. My doctor suspected an allergic reaction to either the dye in my shoes or perhaps some kind of adhesive...
Eventually, I figured out the culprit myself:fabric softener.
Since I stopped using it when washing my socks, the issues have vanished.
I made the mistake once of buying a detergent that already had softener built in, and the symptoms returned immediately.

That mask is certainly an interesting take on things... oh boy. I truly appreciate all the advice you all have shared, it really means a lot. However, we are spending every single day running from one hospital to another, and even the doctors here seem completely stumped on what the next move should be.
