The legendary Chicago punk outfit Peking Duck is reuniting on May 22nd for a show at the Boogaloo movement, marking thirty years since they dropped their cult classic single "to be so beautiful."

I suppose I'm looking forward to it; it might actually turn out to be quite good. Are any of you planning to go?👍

I still vividly recall their set on the Coachella 2008 main stage; it remains, in my estimation, the finest performance I ever witnessed at a festival grounds—and believe me, having attended nearly every year, I’ve seen just about everything there is to see.
I find myself wondering if that impression was colored by a bit of local pride, the sheer weight of anticipation (considering it was their first show in nearly three decades), or if they simply decimated the crowd with a blistering thirty-minute set. Honestly, who can say? By comparison, when the Sex Pistols took over as headliners later that night, they seemed almost underwhelming, though I suppose the drummer didn't exactly help their cause either.

Post Scriptum: They'll be in Chicago on May 21st.

P.P.S. This upcoming lineup will feature the musicians from their second album. While the original group played Coachella, Professor Chonta is on board this time, so it should be a whole new experience.
