Hi there. 😁

I’m looking to order a custom mug from Dell for my boyfriend’s birthday. I want to use some characters from his favorite old shows—kind of an inside joke between us. The fine print during checkout mentions that I need to own the rights to the images I upload, though I'm not quite sure how to phrase 🤣 this legally. Does anyone know if I'll actually run into trouble if I just use photos I found online?

Anyway, has anyone here ever ordered something like this before? Also, if you've used Dell for custom mugs, how was the quality? 😍

Hmm, depends.

I’d say your safest bet is just heading down to a local camera shop and handing them the physical prints. Trying to do this stuff online can lead to some major headaches 😁 At least at a shop, they actually take responsibility if things go south 🤷

I don't think you'll run into any trouble (unless someone in that photo decides to sue you😲), and honestly, those mugs are incredible—I actually ordered some as gifts recently and they were a huge hit...

p.s. I always order everything from Dell online and I've never had a single issue..

Whatever you do, don't accidentally order their calendars! I ordered a small desk one for the office... honestly, I have never seen such a total disaster in my life. First off, it’s too bulky for a standard desk. Second—and this is the kicker—they aren't actually paper; they're printed on photo paper. You can't even write a note on them because of the glossy finish. It's just awful!

Oh, and one more thing... regarding the photos, they insist on delivering them in a 10x13 format. Apparently, if you don't set your camera settings specifically to accommodate their weird printing preferences, you end up with these ugly white bars at the top and bottom of the image😕... yeah, right... my grandfather took his prints to a local Walgreens, and people just got normal 4x6 prints without all this nonsense! To top it off, when I called them to complain, they completely ignored me. Total jerks. As far as I'm concerned, I am officially done with ordering anything from them online...
