Anyway, I’m thinking that at this point, the only way we actually turn things around from this downward slide is if the government steps in with some really smart intervention—kind of like how they use massive public works projects here in the States to jumpstart everything... because honestly, our economy has this deep-seated systemic issue that just won't quit, and you can't exactly fix something like that all by yourself...

I really have to give it to the administration—they actually followed through on those campaign promises... which, let's be honest, doesn't happen nearly as often as you'd hope around here... but they did it. 🙂 Next time there's a conflict and Mexico decides to toss a few missiles or shells our way... honestly, we should just launch a few politicians from the Republican Party right back at them. Seriously—they’d probably do more damage than a million shells ever could... 🙂

Things were honestly better back then—debt was way more manageable, and we actually had some momentum... there was this sense that American companies were finally starting to make a real dent in the global market... it felt like we were actually getting somewhere...
Retirees shouldn't have been forced to scavenge through trash just to get by—and they definitely shouldn't have been hit with extra taxes just to line the pockets of some tiny little elite group...
