Hey ladies, πŸ‘Ž I really need some advice if anyone here has dealt with something similar. I'm 22 and my breasts just haven't developed properly. They started growing when I was 13, but they basically stalled out right after. I was also diagnosed with PCOS two years ago, so there's a chance that's the culprit, though I'm not entirely sure...
Please, πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ if any of you have been through this, please reach out. I'm honestly feeling pretty desperate. I'm barely an A cup, while everyone else in my family is at least a B or C. I want to know if there's actually anything I can do to fix this. Is there any kind of hormone therapy that could jumpstart growthβ€”something like what people use during gender affirmation surgery? Please, if you have any insight or personal experience, let me know. I haven't been able to find anything useful online, and my doctor at the Mayo Clinic didn't give me much to go on either. Help...
Thanks so much in advance, πŸ™„ πŸ™„ πŸ™„

I honestly don't see why this should be an issue for you... My own aren't exactly huge either, so what? It's not like Mother Nature handed out perfection to everyone. I know two acquaintances who have similarly small breasts and had absolutely no trouble breastfeeding... Unless, of course, you're just bothered by the aesthetics.

The real issue for me is that my breasts aren't developed at all. That’s the actual problem here. I want to know if anyone else deals with a complete lack of development, rather than just having small breasts. If you've dealt with this specific situation, please reach out...

p.s: housewife and briskbear32, thanks for the encouragement.

I actually need some help with this too 😒
How am I supposed to tell if they're just naturally small or if I've got an actual issue like you do?

Fine, whatever. It isn’t as if we can actually see you through a computer screen, so there is absolutely no way for anyone here to judge whether they are small or whatever else you might be worried about.
If this is truly causing you such profound distress, I suggest you go see an actual physician and say exactly what is on your mind. Attempting to manipulate your hormones just to increase breast size is nothing short of idiotic, and quite frankly, it is likely a physiological impossibility.
If this remains a source of anxiety for you a year or two down the road, at least know that modern medicine offers a straightforward surgical solution. You could easily consult with a gynecologist or a plastic surgeon to discuss your options. I happen to know that a major medical center like the Mayo Clinic handles breast surgery, so if you are near a metropolitan area, just go get a professional consultation. If you aren't in a big city, I am certain there is someone nearby who can help.

Good luck.

Fair enough. We honestly thought we weren't the only ones dealing with this mess. Thanks for the tip 😁

Haha, briskbear32, I was actually hoping someone here would have some solid advice to offer us.
It’s not even about the size for me; it’s the fact that it's an actual disorder. It worries me, and I'm trying to figure out what steps to take next. That said, I have zero interest in going under the knife for this.
Anyway, thanks stormymaker24.

Alright ladies, I’m hoping someone jumps in soon who’s actually been through this... it would really help give me and briskbear32 some peace of mind.

Michelle Hernandez13, I’m dealing with the exact same thing, and I have PCOS too... I don't know if there's a connection there, but I'm feeling just like you are. 😒😒😒😒😒😒

hmm. so, I've got these crappy, small breasts and PCOS... now I'm starting to wonder if there's some kind of underlying disorder going on with me 😒

...well, I have PCOS as well... though I don't have small breastsβ€”they're actually a pretty decent D-cup... so, I guess I don't really buy the idea that this is a PCOS issue...

I’m struggling with my small chest sizeβ€”it honestly feels like I have nothing at all... even my 12-year-old sister seems more developed than me. 😒 It’s likely just genetic... I also suspect an imbalance in my hormones since I've dealt with excess body hair since childhood, though that's probably hereditary too. β˜• It’s quite frustrating... I think I'll bring this up with my gynecologist next time to get a professional opinion.

I’m 18 years old, and I was diagnosed with PCOS about two or three years ago. My breasts started developing when I was 13, but then everything just... stopped. They never really grew. To be honest, they are miniature. Their shape is... well, let's just say they aren't exactly round. It makes me incredibly unhappy. When I'm naked, I don't feel like a woman at all. I find myself constantly relying on various push-up bras just to feel okay, and at the beach... well, I could go on, but I'll stop there. I just want to know: does anyone have any advice? I keep talking to my sisters and my mom, insisting there must be some underlying reasonβ€”something other than just geneticsβ€”for why my breasts are this way. They don't believe me. They just think I have small breasts because they’ve never actually seen me without a bra on.

I once knew a close friend of mine who dealt with underdeveloped breasts similar to yours during those same years. She’s in her thirties now, a mother of two, and she has developed a very lovely C-cup. Honestly, I think it’s a bit premature to let the panic set in just yet. A woman's body undergoes so many shifts, and breasts certainly continue to mature over the years.
As for the PCOS, you should definitely follow up with your doctor; there is a chance that the hormone therapy they prescribe might actually assist with breast development as well.

I truly think it's far too early for you to start panicking. A woman's body changes and matures over many years.
Regarding PCOS, you should definitely see a doctor. It is possible that the treatment they prescribe could help with your breast development as well.

As for my own treatment, I've been taking Metformin for two years now, yet my breasts still feel "stunted"... I honestly don't know if there's any connection between the two. But, since one of the symptoms of PCOS during puberty and adolescence is "insufficient secondary sexual characteristics," I felt hopeful that someone might have some advice. To be completely honest, I feel incredibly awkward about walking into an endocrinologist's office or a gynecologist's clinic and telling them I'm worried about my breast development because of PCOS, even if there isn't actually a direct link...

So, did your doctor actually tell you that you have hypomastia, or was that just something you figured out on your own? I mean, if it's the latter, my own development didn't really finish up until my early twenties, so I guess I was just a late bloomer myself 😁

But honestly, you should definitely sit down and have a real talk with an endocrinologist... it’s super possible that this is all tied in with PCOS, and there is absolutely no reason to feel embarrassed about it, because it's definitely not like you did anything to cause this πŸ˜‰

Regardless, you absolutely need to have a serious conversation with an endocrinologist. It is highly possible this is linked to PCOS. Please, don't feel embarrassedβ€”this isn't something you did to yourself.πŸ˜‰

I reached that conclusion myself... by looking at various medical examples of hypomastia online. But honestly, that’s exactly why it feels so awkward. How am I supposed to walk in there and say, "Good morning, doctor, I have hypomastia"? And then the doctor just patronizes me with, "Oh, honey, they aren't small, they're just petite."

They aren't petite; they are underdeveloped.
But perhaps I am overthinking this. Is it truly too early? Still, they don't seem to be growing... at all.

Like, imagine walking into the clinic and being like, "Hey, good morning, I think I have hypomastia!" and then the doctor just goes, "Chill out, honey, they're just small."

They aren't just small, though; it feels more like they haven't really developed at all.
But, I don't know, maybe I am totally overthinking this whole thing... maybe it's just way too early to tell... but it feels like they aren't growing... at all...

I think you’re definitely overreacting a bit, because obviously if you're worried about stuff like that, you're gonna go talk to a doctor, and trust me, that is literally what they are there forβ€”especially since you already have a PCOS diagnosis... otherwise, people would just assume you weren't taking care of yourself.

Yeah, count me in... I'm dealing with the exact same thing... my OBGYN told me I have PCOS too... and honestly, I'm spiraling just as much as you are. I guess I'll have to go back and grill her about it... my self-esteem is basically non-existent right now 🀷
